Rafa Plans To Analyze Slimani – To Make Him Into A Better Striker

Rafa now has the squad for the rest of this season, and he knows they still lack experience in the Premier League which is one reason we have thrown away so many points this season.

But dropping points with only minutes to go in games has to stop if we are to survive in the Premier League.

Rafa will now try to improve his players as well as trying to get his young players to do the right things during different periods of the games – which comes with experience.

Islam Slimani – Rafa wants to improve him at Newcastle

This is what Rafa has said in the Chronicle today:

“My priority is to make sure the team is performing. You know from the beginning, from January 1, we are working but now the window is gone.”

“It’s finished. That’s it.”

“I was talking to Slimani in my office when he came on Thursday about his position, so I’m now learning about him.”

“My job now is to analyze him so I can improve him a little bit. About the other things, we have plenty of time to talk about that in the future.”

At the end of a stressful transfer window for Newcastle, we did get three good players in – Kenedy from Chelsea, Slimani from Leicester and Dubravka from Sparta Prague.

Kenedy is better than any of the winger we have, and Slimani is a better striker than any we currently have at the club.

We don’t know enough about Dubravka other than he is very experienced and Rafa rates him.

All three will improve the side, but we also needed a playmaker and maybe a second striker.

But we have what we have – and now the only goal this season is to survive and be a Premier League club come May.

And even if Mike Ashley is still the owner, Rafa will have money to spend in the summer transfer window, and he will spend it wisely.

No offense Ed but how can anyone say we’ll have money to spend in the summer as long as we have this regime in charge? Our only hope is Ashley finally sells and the new owners listen to Rafa and spend the money available wisely.

Spot on Malta mag #1 no one can even think there will be any money in the summer if the fat parasite is still in charge, it will be business as usual, and shafted as per usual, another groundhog day, whatever division we are in.
