Rafa Showing All His Savvy And Experience To Bring Along This Young Player

In the two games Kenedy has played for Newcastle, he looks a terrific young rising star and has played very well in both games.

He seems perfect for Newcastle, but Rafa Benitez wants to protect Kenedy from the adulation and excitement that has accompanied his play for the Magpies.

In the two games he has played, he has earned a penalty, hit the post and has two assists (from corners) for the two Newcastle goals scored.

Kenedy – in his debut against Burnley

He has given Newcastle another huge option down the left wing, and we hope he can keep up his excellent form.

But the lad is still young and lacks experience, and the savvy and sage Rafa Benitez knows he needs guidance:

“He did well and everybody is a little bit excited but still he is a young player and he has to be consistent.”

“He has played well. But I want to see him playing more good games and after we can be talking about: ‘Kenedy can do this’, or ‘Kenedy can do that’.”

“At the moment we are happy with what he did. We want him to carry on like this every week.”

“I don’t want to put him in the position where everyone is talking too much and too nice about him.”

“He has to compete, to perform, and then we will see in a few games if he is doing well.”

“We want to see all the games at the same level. When you are young and not played too many games before you cannot expect he will be always there.”

“I want to keep him calm, protect him a little bit and let him think about his football.”

Rafa has coached many world stars in his glittering career and top young players coming through, and he may be the best manager for Kenedy given where the young Brazilian is in his development.

But it also seems that Kenedy is listening to Rafa, and we’ll see how well he keeps playing.

But make no mistake this lad is a talented young footballer.

It would be great if we can sign him permanently at some stage in his career.

Like in the summer.

What do you think?

The jigsaw pieces are slowly getting put into place for a half decent team at NUFC.
Whether or not we can hold on to talented players like Kenedy will probably depend to some extent on us keeping Rafa at the end of the season.

I’d love to see this guy signed on a permanent basis he has the kind of talent that we need more of in our Newcastle team – Haway the Lads!

Kenedy is already inferring he prefers Rafa as a coach over
    Conté
That will go down real well at Stamford Bridge (not)

Rafa is building up such a power base at the club
that fairly shortly it will matter not what the ownership
is , Benitez will hold all the aces.

it will only ever matter if that power base includes the key to the safe
    as without he has nothing

If Rafa stays another year, we could get Kenedy
on loan for the whole season.

Wish we had the option to buy him after the loan deal.
