Mourinho – Some Good Signings By Newcastle Last Month

In his press conference on Friday afternoon for this afternoon’s tough game against Newcastle, Jose Mourinho said he thought that Newcastle had a very good transfer window last month.

After Mike Ashley was vacationing in Miami over the Christmas holidays and finally returned to England it wasn’t until mid-January that he decided to get involved with transfers.

Before that Ashley had ended negotiations with Amanda Staveley and said, it had all been a complete waste of time.

Jose Mourinho – very good window to get Kenedy and Slimani in

That was just to raise the spirits of Newcastle fans.

Not!

We managed to bring in three loan players last month – Kenedy, Slimani, and Dubravka, with the final two arriving on the final evening of the transfer window.

We hear Mike Ashley likes to gamble and that shows through in the entirely amateurish way he has run the club for almost 11 years – which have been a form of torture for out long-suffering Newcastle fans.

Anyway, here’s what Jose said about our transfer window:

“I think they had a very good transfer window with Kenedy and Slimani. They are two players I know very well and they can really improve the team.”

We are not sure if Slimani is fit for today and whether both the Algerian International and new goalkeeper Martin Dubravka will start the game today.

Kenedy has been outstanding for us so far, and we really need a win today if we are to keep up with the other clubs at the bottom of the league who are finding ways to win games.

    Repost from previous thread….

But have we seen Amanda Staveley promise everything but fail to get a deal with Mike Ashley?

By all accounts PCP made three offers, the latter being £250m cash, without any preconditions. That was said to be a reasonable offer given the real threat of relegation. However, our beloved owner felt it wasn’t enough to satisfy his greed – even though £250m would at least give him his money back.

In my view, PCP did not promise the earth and fail to deliver, it was Ashley that failed the Club by being his usual greedy self.
He’ll, regret his actions when we’re relegated, skint, stuck with a mediocre manager, and forced to sell our better players leaving a once great club, a club with so much potential, languishing in the lower leagues and on a downward spiral.

Ashley’s been a total disaster and he should be banned from going anywhere near football, or any other professional sport, banned for life.

I think Sunderland coming back yesterday. I have customary thing where I won’t gloat about the mackems getting beat until I see our results. I was listening to the radio and heard the 3-0 scoreline and shouted geet on. Sorry.

I appreciate that many fans think that because they read it on another blog, it must be true, so this might come as a bit of a shock to you…….

Lesh – you say by all accounts PCP made 3 offers. No mate. By one account repeated on a thousands blogs.

As for Ashley getting his money back – nowhere near it. He’s lost nearly 150 million in interest alone on the loans he put in.
While you may be able to ignore that kind of loss, I’m sure Ashley can’t.
