    dig-n dig

Aye they just don’t get it, my missus is always shushing me, “Will you keep your voice down, the whole street can hear you”.
They can’t as we have double glazing.

She’s a good lass for all of that though.

It’s good to see Dubravka and Shelvey neck and neck for MOM but it doesn’t do any justice to the likes of Dummett, Lascelles, Lejeune and the other players with them being way down the voting list.

Debruvkas save from martial was a de gea esque save absolutly brilliant most keepers would have went down early there

“Is there no EPL football next week or is there some cup games being played and it’s just us?”

    FA cup 5th round

“If that’s the case it gives some of the other relegation fighting teams a chance to drop themselves further in it.”

a few of them have cup games though which is good

“the Smalling / Gayle incident on the corner of the 18yard box was a stick on penalty like, not given.”

def a pen by the letter of the law but i’d hate to see that given against us.

Excellent result today from the lads, they performed brilliantly to a man. Our back 4 looked solid and Lejeune is easily a more accomplished CB than Clarke. Dubravka had an excellent debut and Shelvey and Diame ran the show in second half.

Also, Paul Dummett kept Sanchez quiet for the whole second half!! Brilliant display from him and I know I give him a lot of grief so credit where it is due.

That could genuinely re-define our season and if ever there were a time to get these 3 points it was today. Brilliant performance and priceless win! HWTL

Great to win today, had we lost sitting in the bottom three for the next two weeks would have been terrible for morale, players and fans alike.

Smalling is getting a hammering from Manu supporters, a lot from the south of England, there are some disgusting remarks, they don’t like it up them. Sad gits.
Brilliant game and result. Hats off to Jose for his comments and professionalism in defeat.
Rafa is the man, bet he has a smile to himself for beating his old enemy. Hope he and Ed have a nice glass of wine to celebrate.
Been a nervy but great day. Hope the Manu supporters behaved themselves on leaving our great stadium haven’t heard of any trouble.

Jane – I would hate to have it given against us too, just like any penalty, but that was a blatant foul by Smalling on Gayle. It should have been called. All tv commentators that I have heard so far have agreed. Only debate the ref should have had was whether or not it happened in the area. The fact he did not even blow his whistle says a great deal about how poor the officiating was. Glad we won the 3 points in the end and it showed great character by the team to keep fighting despite having such important, potentially game changing calls not be justly awarded in our favour.

That was real backs to the wall, blood in your boots stuff, fortunately or unfortunately though depending on how you look at it, falling on a weekend where most in the bottom half picked up points, and so heroic and desperately needed as it was, in truth it’s more like 3 points held in that case, rather than gained. But still undeniably a brilliant effort by the manager and the lads.

Our real problem has been our home results against teams around us, all six pointers, and far too many points dropped in those games for want of converting our chances. The owner has denied Rafa a proper number 9 all season, and while now we have Slimani, he is yet to feature. If he can come in next match and lead the defensive press, hold the ball up and finish the chances that have gone begging up till now, we’ll stay up, despite a reasonably tough run in with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs still to face

Following the memorable 5-0 possing of ManU, Mordues had ‘5-0’ in the pubs in no time.

Given the importance of today’s result, I wonder if we’ll see a ‘1-0’ in the pumps soon?

And, what a clever piece of psychology by Ashley: He banned the Flags knowing it would fire the players and fans up.. And it worked.

Made up for the supporters who were there, the ones who weren’t(me included) made up for Rafa and all those players who gave their all today. I can watch match of the day and enjoy it for the first time in ages. What a great weekend!!! Hwtl

What a result! Absolutely made up and was going mental in work receiving updates from the brother.

Makes it even sweeter as the boss left early to watch it lol.

Give him his due, said we deserved it for the way we played.

Only seen a quick highlights clip. Will try and watch motd tomorrow before we fly out to Barca.

Perez and Slimani will be first choice up top for the run, with Gayle off the bench. Perez is an important player and much under appreciated by many fans in my opinion. I think Kenedy, Perez, Lejeune, Shelvey, and hopefully Slimani and Dubravka, and increasingly Murphy and also Merino when fully fit, do add that bit of much needed quality to an otherwise very wholehearted group of players. Can’t help but think Rafa will keep us up, as Ashley has gambled.

We really needed that win. Top teams keep giving the bottom 10 points I suspect saints might be looking for the new manager bounce next. From 10th place down, no one is safe from relegation and 40pts and goal difference might be needed this year. So 12 points needed from a possibe 33. Target set!

In regards team our 3 loanees should be starting next and bring a wealth of talent. Great to see diame fulfilling and lejune back as Clark is a bit last ditch.

In regards the no.10 and rw position I feel perez, astu, ritchie, Murphy and merino should be pushing hard…all depends in who links will with silmani and who protects the inconsistent yedlin

MOTD clearly confirmed that Gayle was brought down in the box so that was clearly a penalty. Ref didn’t give it as he knew Joselu wasn’t on the pitch so he had to protect Manures chances just in case someone else scored. In many other games the attempt to take Atsu’s head off would have been a clear red just for dangerous play irrespective of if there was any intent.

Good to know that by winning against Man Utd we’ve denied them any outside chance of winning the title and handed it to Man City.

Amanda – hope you were watching

Perhaps Mordues could market a “Matt Finish” ale – smooth with a sweet finish

Think we’ll see a lot more from Ritchie now as scoring that goal will relax him and let him play with more freedom

Nothing is done yet. Every team will have unexpected wins. It’s one hell of a battle. Enjoying the moment but Bournemouth away was a bigger match than today before it kicked off. Today’s result was a brilliant lift and much needed points but if we are going to stay up in my humble opinion Bournemouth, Southampton, West Brom are must wins and take points from some of the rest.
A tough ask. The fight in these lads is Nothing short of legendary. Really proud of them all. Nobody is laying down. The club has to be sold and rafa has to stay. On the verge of something special if Ashley sells.
