While we thought that Rafa Benitez had found a new goalkeeper, 29-year-old Martin Dubravka from Sparta Prague who can be a big hit at Newcastle, there is news in the Sun that Newcastle are after talented Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.
Nick came into the side when first choice Tom Heaton injured his shoulder earlier this season, and Nick has played very well for the Turf Moor side.
But Burnley manager Sean Dyche could get some transfer money by selling 31-year-old Tom Heaton in the summer transfer market and keep 25-year-old Pope as the first team goalkeeper.
It will also be interesting to see if Heaton can regain his place in the side when he recovers fully from the dislocation of his shoulder.

Newcastle were also reported to be interested in Heaton last summer so maybe whoever ends up on the bench once Heaton is fit again could become the Newcastle target this summer?
The Sun are reporting it will specifically be Nick Pope if he ends up on the bench and Heaton regains his place in the side.
If Newcastle sign Dubravka permanently for €4M in the summer, and Rafa brings in another goalkeeper, then either Rob Elliot or Karl Darlow will have to be sold.
If Dubravka continues in the terrific form he showed on his debut in the surprise win against Manchester United – our first win since October 21st – there’s little doubt he will sign for Newcastle in a permanent move.
And with Elliot and Darlow as the backup, it does seem a little strange that Rafa would want to bring in another goalkeeper.
But we shall see, and Newcastle do have young Freddie Woodman, who in a couple of years should be fighting for the number one goalkeeper position at Newcastle.
Pope joined Burnley two years ago from Charlton Athletic, and he has played 27 times this season for the Burnley first team, and he has looked extremely impressive.
