Slimani Could Now Be Available For Only Six Games

Bad news from Rafa Benitez today that Slimani has still not fully recovered from that thigh injury he had when he signed the loan deal with Newcastle on January 31st.

The disaster scenario is the injury will drag on and not clear up for some weeks, and he will miss even more vital games for Newcastle.

After two weeks without a game, we were hoping he would be fully fit but warned on Wednesday that may not be the case.

Rafa said he will be out at least two more weeks, so he’s in danger of missing as many as four more games before he’s fit.

Islam Slimani – may be available for only six games

Here are the next seven games.

Date Fixture KO time
Sat 24 Feb Bournemouth vs Newcastle 15:00
Sat 3 Mar Liverpool vs Newcastle 17:30
Sat 10 Mar Newcastle vs Southampton 15:00
Fri 16 Mar Tottenham vs Newcastle 16:00
Sat 31 Mar Newcastle vs Huddersfield 15:00
Sat 7 Apr Leicester vs Newcastle 15:00
Sat 14 Apr Newcastle vs Arsenal 15:00

He could possibly make the game in three weeks at Tottenham and maybe the home game against Huddersfield but misses the game at Leicester, which he cannot play in.

This is not good news because once an injury is almost healed but is injured again, it becomes very dodgy as to when that injury will fully heal.

Hate to be too negative but time is of the essence with injuries.

Islam should at least be fit by the end of March after the two-week International break, which is five weeks from now.

And there are then six games he can play for us if he makes the Huddersfield game.

It’s hardly good news, but we’ll just have to hope for the best, and it does give some of our other strikers a chance to score those goals for us – and be heroes.

And it’s almost certain that Rafa will now play an unchanged side tomorrow at Dean Court against Bournemouth.

As I said on the last thread, Dwight has some unfinished business with this lot after his effort at SJP being chalked off. I still think we can, and will win this one.

He might well be physically fit for some games but not match fit, might as well stick with Gayle and Joselu especially as we are undefeated since the ManC game.

Looks like our medical staff did a great job in assessing him deadline day – desperation stakes again – maybe should have kept Mitro ????????

Me at my local Chinese take away

“Yes can I have the Hubris noodles with the Karma sauce and can you turn that awful music down.” And as I walked away I was thinking “I suppose I deserved that put down for insulting his music.”

If we don’t have a clause or agreement to sign Slimani in the summer then the loaning of him was completely pointless as even when he’s back playing, the few weeks then required to get him up to speed takes us to the end of the season.

I was told after he had signed by a mate who collates all the players stats from their training etc that Slimani could be out for up to FIVE weeks

Slimani – don’t Leicester have their own medical teams ? Looks like he’s a health tourist after better medical care in Newcastle.
Gives Gayle a chance to proove he’s the main man.

Comrade Lesh or should I call you Mr. Communism (No class at all ) . Having just read your post from last night I would like to point out that you have been the one poster on here for a long time with a political agenda that you are determined to incorporate on this blog at every opportunity. Your fanatical obsession with politics and Trump in particular and your numerous attempts to include your loony left views on a football blog have had many posters reminding you of the no politics rule frequently, to no avail.

I am not interested in politics at all and only mentioned 00 Corbyn as he has been accused of treason. However you are a tub thumper of the highest order and should focus on your attempts to liberate the people from the freedom of Liberty away from the blog.

By all means continue to stand on the left on busy escalators and also feel free to campaign for left only indicators on cars but remember Communism doesn’t work cos folk like to own stuff.

You clearly are of the general opinion that the value of a community is equal to it’s socially necessary labour time which makes you the boring tedious tosser you are.

Hope I have spelt everything correctly.

Perhaps it would now be a blessing in disguise if the game below does need to be re-arranged?

Friday 16th Mar Newcastle vs Southampton 8:00 (Sky)

    Anyone heard anything on this?

Your rant reads just like The Sun or the Daily Heil.

It was a perfect example of how the media influences opinions. You’ve been well and truly nobbled.

So we carry on with the long tradition of signing “good on paper” strikers that never see the field. Doumbia and Ferreyra should phone Slimani and tell him where the best curry joints are to eat at during matches.

Still a lot of good vibes after the Man U game so this hasn’t upset me yet. Could be a different feeling tomorrow after we see the result.
