Ashley’s Huge Challenge To Rafa’s Management Skills This Season

Rafa is facing another management challenge at Newcastle this season given to him by owner Mike Ashley who failed to keep his promise and invest in the squad last summer.

Since last September Rafa has been very politically correct in things he has said and like the fans, he must be hoping we can get a new owner in the summer.

But even if Mike Ashley is still in charge, we still think it’s possible Rafa could sing a new deal to stay at Newcastle.

It’s well-publicized we are short of experience in the team, and Rafa knew about this 13 months ago when he tried to get in Andros Townsend and James McCarthy in the January 2017 transfer window.

If we could have even had them on loan with an option to buy last summer, Rafa would have had two experienced Premier League players we don’t have today.

Mike Ashley – why does he keep creating problems for the manager?

Why Ashley doesn’t just let Rafa run the club for him and give him transfer money in each transfer window based on the earning Newcastle make – we ‘re not sure.

Maybe it’s giving up too much control for the Billionaire owner who doesn’t like to spend money.

If only we can survive this season all our players will be so much better off for next season given the valuable experiences they have gone through this term.

And it could be we can sign some of the loan players we currently have on loan.

If Dubravka keeps playing well in goal we can get him for a measly £3.5M in addition to his £1.7KM loan fee.

Martin could be worth every single penny if he can help us stay in the Premier League.

So the hope is if we can survive another season under Mike Ashley, then maybe, just maybe,  things will change for the better.

The best thing would be to get a new owner in, but it’s difficult to know if that will happen.

We don’t think it will.

Jib, no problem – we’ve been chatting metaphysical cosmology with reference to the great man Terry Pratchett. The weather has got to be more relevant than that. I’m looking forward to getting the kids out on the sledge, can’t wait
