Slimani To Be Included In Algerian Squad In March – No Way

Islam Slimani has had an injured thigh since he first arrived at Newcastle on loan in the final hours of last month’s transfer window.

While we were looking forward to him making his debut last Saturday at the Cherries. Rafa said in last Friday’s press conference that he had a setback in training a week yesterday and that he would be out for two to three weeks,

There’s a report in Le Buteur that his national team manager, Rabah Madjer, says Islam is expected to be part of the next Algeria squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Gambia.

That’s followed by the friendly against Iran.

Islam Slimani – has thigh injury

The next two-week International break is the last two weeks of March starting after the weekend of March 17th.

It would be stupid if Rafa allows him to go off to play International football and have his thigh possibly go again.

It would mean that Islam had been out injured for six weeks at Newcastle and he goes off the play for Algeria?

The Tottenham game scheduled for Friday 16th March will be rearranged if Tottenham beat Rochdale in their FA Cup replay tonight.

That being the case it would mean Rafa would allow Islam Slimani go away on International duty without having kicked a ball (on loan) at Newcastle.

Let’s make this short – there’s just no way that’s going to happen.

It’s worth mentioning that I wasn’t ripping Beefman – merely helping him to justify his Flat Earth claims. Call it a public service with meta elephants

I wouldn’t mind Slimani playing for his country – he needs match fitness to make him more effective, this would be a good opportunity to do it where it doesn’t affect anything to do with our run-in. This is assuming his injury has cleared up, obviously

Slimani’s injury means he has to be brought back to
    match fitness gradually.

Do you see the Algeria manager doing that?
    I don’t.
He would put him through vigorous training to establish
his fitness and more likely than not, set him back in his

What a bloody cheek, International duty ! He hasn’t even kicked a ball for NUFC yet !!!
If Rafa lets him go on international duty then you might as well send him back to Leicester. Crocked ! That’s what he will be for the rest of the loan period.

Its an Owen situation all over again, but hey he’s not our player so if he gets crocked send him back and get a refund.

This bloke is heading in the same direction as the repugnant paddy Stephen Ireland
While its early days of course and he’s unlikely to go to the depths that arsehole went, it’s a concern we aren’t seeing any determination to get into the fray. If he’s “injured” AGAIN after this one, just cut short the loan
