Alan Shearer has reacted to the 2-0 defeat of Newcastle at Liverpool this afternoon.
And Alan aptly sums it up that it was too easy for Liverpool and Newcastle now remain in deep relegation trouble 5th from bottom on 29 points from 29 games.
We offered nothing up front today and the sooner Islam Slimani is fit the better.
As comfortable a 3 points for @LFC as you’re ever going to see! #LIVNEW #PremierLeague

I hope all these idiots on here heard what both Stevie G and Jermaine Jenas said there. Championship team with a premiership manager, without him we would be rock bottom. If you need further proof, look where are ex-manager currently has his outfit. Going to be a close run thing but if Rafa keeps that squad up it is a miracle. Totally toothless up front and zero creativity in midfield without Shelvey.

Comment #2Pleased with the effort off the lads, just lack quality in behind Gayle.

Comment #3Agree with Gerrard we would be bottom without Rafa.
No cutting edge what so ever, Gayle only had about 16 touches. Our defence work hard for their capabilities though.
Not sure if we’ll survive or not tbh.

Comment #6We knew this one was a tough one, I Was hoping for a draw . it didn’t happen. They took Man City apart at home just like they did West Ham last week at least we didn’t concede 4 like they did. Looking at the teams fixtures around us, I don’t see what the doom is about, next 2 games Southampton,Huddersfield both at home. Soton only managed a draw with Stoke Hudders Got zilch, I can see Hudders getting maybe 3 more pts from their remaining fixtures, I see Brighton getting sucked back in too. I see our position as unique, win our next 2 games and we can put relegation behind us we just have to scrap for 3 more pts, that should see us safe with the luxury of a home tie with West Brom too.
