Surprising Prediction By Paul Merson On Newcastle vs Southampton Match

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson very rarely predicts a Newcastle win, and he does that for our game at home on Saturday against Southampton.

We’re not sure whether we should be happy or sad.

Make no mistake about it – this is Newcastle’s most important game so far this season.

We must get the win, and anything else will keep us thick in the muck and mire of another relegation battle.

A win will take us up the table, and then in three weeks time, we will have the next big battle – against fellow promoted club Huddersfield – which we must win again.

Paul Merson – predicts Newcastle win – what?

Paul has predicted a 2-0 win for Newcastle, and this is what he has said on Sky Sports:

“Newcastle came up against a better team in Liverpool the other day but I think they’ll be alright.”

“You look at them and they’ve got players who, especially Jonjo Shelvey if he plays well, should make sure they’re alright at home and they got a massive result against Manchester United the other week.”

“Southampton have got four away games on the trot, they’re in the FA Cup against Wigan and when they’re doing that, Premier League teams will be playing football.”

“If they win then they’ll be in the semi-final when teams will be playing again.”

“They could be in a horrible position soon if they don’t get anything here.” “They’ll be playing catch-up and will be in the bottom three.”

“They’re missing Charlie Austin, and they seem like a team who want to don’t lose before they win.”

“Prediction:  Newcastle 2 Southampton 0.”

Two in three Newcastle fans think we can win this game so let’s hope they are right because the Saints will make it hard for us to break them down.

Just read the report were there is massive unrest at Arsenal over the wage gap for certain players, that sort of thing will cause numorous problems and has, Wenger imo is a top top manager and has been for a lot of years, I would love him at SJP, yes I know it won’t happen, but I also know the gooners fans will be horrified if they go for Benitez.

Rafa won’t get a bigger club in England than nufc and I think he knows it. Also we have a massive and adoring fan base which appeals just like liverpool

AC Milan’s manager is the stroppy little bugger
    Gennaro Gattuso
Some one less like the cultured Arsene Wenger
    would be hard to find

Re the clearout of the U23s, well that suggests that Rafa is hanging around and is doing his job, managing all the players.

Hope he has other U23s in the funnel.

    Curtis Goode is a surprise.

    Curtis Good
    (no “E” on the end)
is 25 in a couple of weeks
He still has plenty of time to carve
out a half decent career for himself
    in the lower divisions
