Will Newcastle Get The Win We Desperately Need Against Southampton?

The only thing that seems to matter with Newcastle at the moment is whether we can get all 3 points against Southampton on Saturday.

They are one point and one place behind us in the league table and a win would be massive for Newcastle and it would take us 32 points and 4 points ahead of the Saints.

But as we all know, Newcastle have found it very hard to get the wins this season, even when we have been the better side.

That’s because we still haven’t got players who can take the chances we create.

Mauricio Pellegrino with Rafa Benitez – at St. Mary’s last year

And also there has been a lack of concentration at the back that has caused errors that have cost us goals.

So it’s almost all or nothing for our lads on Saturday and if we win we promise to celebrate big time.

However a draw or a defeat would put us further in the ongoing battle to survive this season and I’m not sure what I’d do in that case – disappear for  3 weeks maybe?

It seems ridiculous we are in this situation after all the goodwill that seemed to follow our promotion as Champions of the Championship last May.

But as we have found out – Mike Ashley refused to spend money, yet again; his word cannot be trusted and Rafa knows that now.

A win is what we need on Saturday and nothing less.

Hope I’ve made that clear.

Low scoring draw, for me unfortunately, though I’d love a win. A draw will not be a disaster, as many have stated, although it will obviously put more pressure on the Hudds and West Brom matches.

Dear oh dear. Rob sorry but this is Southampton not Liverpool. Rafa surely can put together an attacking formula to get 2 goals

    Draw is what I fear.
A win is what I hope for and believe our players are up to it,
as long as they REALLY turn up.
Need Diame in particular to play as he did against ManU.
