Kenedy Gets European Recognition For His Brilliance On Saturday

The compliments are coming in for Kenedy’s display for us after we thrashed a poor Southampton side 3-0 on Saturday.

Kenedy scored a goal after two minutes and another one after 29 minutes and he was a thorn in the side of the Saints all afternoon on the left wing.

Kenedy made both Garth Brooks and Jamie Redknapp’s Premier League Teams of the Week today.

– scores his second goal after 29 minutes

And now he has been picked by Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy and he makes their European Team of the Week.

Here’s the Gazzetta dello Sport European Team of The Week:

Neto (Valencia) – what a name for a goalkeeper
Kehrer (Schalke)
Aurier (Spurs)
Juanpe (Girona)
Ribery (Bayern Munich)
Nkunku (PSG)
Kenedy (Newcastle United)
Gregorititsch (Augsburg)
Plea (Nice)
Rashford (Man Utd)
Rodrigo (Valencia)

Of course, there are some negatives with Kenedy getting all this attention and publicity (from a selfish Newcastle viewpoint), it will be a lot more difficult for Newcastle to sign him.

But perhaps he’s destined to become a great player at Chelsea.

Rafa’s right – we should enjoy him while he’s a Newcastle player.

It’s looking like a huge win-win situation for both the 22-year-old Brazilian and Newcastle.

Comments welcome.

He will be faced with the age old or at least the last decade – ish dilemma of whether to continue building a reputation with a regular spot in a decent pl team (that’s us I’m talking about btw ha ha no stop it i mean it) or to take the express bus to chelskis bench for the next few years.

It just shows how pundits are disposed to discredit when at first it was being mooted as bouncing off him luckily for him to turn on and then “scuff” it into the corner.

If Garth Crooks, Adrian Chiles and Lee Churnley had there faces put on that pop up mallet game you be notching up record breaking scores and definitely be taking a goldfish home.

I didn’t actually see that article but it’s not surprising. Despite his many critics, he’s an important player. Now that dummett is finally getting some deserved recognition, maybe Perez is the new dummett!

Just watched the Carragher video. He was actually trying to say how much better Man Utd have been since they swapped Sanchez for Mkhitaryan, but has made a right mess of it. A real pity if that’s the last we hear from him.

If Garth Brooks’s picking teams, he’s doing it between gigs or Nashville recording sessions.

    Hey ho
