Lots Of Drinks Available For Our Players In Spain – But No Alcohol

Rafa will take the first team on a trip to Spain tomorrow for a four-day warm weather training camp.

But the Chronicle is reporting that Rafa has put a ban on any alcohol, so Newcastle don’t end up getting any negative headlines while in Spain.

We had the ridiculous spectacle of some experienced West Brom players – Jonny Evans, Gareth Barry, Jake Livermore and Boaz Myhill – allegedly stealing a taxi while they were in Barcelona after a night out drinking.

Rafa Benitez – no alcohol, please

Such goings on will not happen when Rafa Benitez is in charge.

In any case, Rafa will hold double training sessions, so we expect the lads to be in bed fairly early each night – exhausted

🙂

The players will be flying out to Alicante in the Costa Blanca region, and we play a friendly against Royal Antwerp on Sunday, with the game set to last 135 minutes with three 45 minute segments.

That’s so Rafa can give some of our fringe players some game time.

We understand there will various drinks like orange juice, coffee (Starbucks?), lemonade, Lucozade, milk, and even Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew and other soft drinks for the players.

And of course, there’s always lots of water available – as much as they need in fact.

Comments welcome.

Watching those Freddie Woodman saves, I didn’t realise that Gareth Southgate is his godfather.

Be a little ironic if he picked him for the England squad whilst he’s with Aberdeen on loan.

I like Freddy Woodman, decent keeper but his time is not yet here in terms of England call-ups, for the senior squad anyway.

No I don’t expect he will, just saying it would be funny if it did happen.

I do not think it is a good idea for the players to be jacked up on Mountain Dew either.

Conte hasn’t been buying or selling players its the main thing he has been moaning about this season!!!

So the next manager probably won’t get to buy or sell either!! Although they may be asked to play more of the youngsters which could be bad news for keeping Kennedy!

Rafa has a good relationship with Chelsea though so if we could get Kennedy on a permanent deal and hopefully loan another one next season ha ha

I wonder if the Royal Antwerp match will be broadcast anywhere? Would be a good thing for nufc.co.uk to stream, I guess.

That sounded like some top coaches rafa secured for Liverpool u23s etc although not sure who came through . Another michael Owen wud be nice. Hopefully arma. But a shake up at that level did be good with beardo out. I’m not sure Why rafa kept him – aren’t we a disaster at that level last year or year before?

Kenedy would be a bargain at 15m. Where did that rumour come from?

Given the last 2 transfer markets I couldn’t see him going for less than 20m unless he developed an injury problem. I want him to stay but just think that number must be made up because there are a number of teams that could use him as much as us and he’s proven he can walk into any lower to mid-table Prem First Team not to mention that whoever takes over from Conte at Chelski will probably want to hang onto him (even if they send him out on loan again) as they stock of the squad. So just can’t see him going for less than 20m. Hope I’m wrong because Ashley probably won’t bite at 15m let alone 20m. Here’s hoping I’m wrong.

as most clubs have got three weeks off, any players going to the world cup should be given a break to avoid fatigue and injuries from playing almost non-stop for 2 seasons. england should rest any players who’ve been regular starters (which isn’t many unfortunately)

Perhaps my reaction was too harsh. I just get utterly fed up with regurgitation and peddling of the vindictive lies and stupidity generated by the gutter press. You gave the impression that you believed it, which was deemed irritating by me and hilarious by Lesh.

Unless I’m imagining it, I’m sure NUFC TV said it was going to broadcast some live games this season, still waiting for that to happen. Unless they meant live radio games, which has happened.

Are they giving Coleman much stick yet?
He’s done absolutely nowt for them.
That squad should not be bottom of the championship, definitely not at this stage. Don’t care what’s happening off the pitch.
He was always a mediocre manager before the Wales job mind. Belfast has a good memory.

There are a few clubs chasing Eibar’s Dani Garcia ,
the midfielder is out of contract in June.
He is very reminiscent of Rafa’s other Basque midfielder
    Xabi Alonso.
We are in the driving seat for his signature and some
have suggested a swap for Isaac Hayden could be on
    the cards.

Mate at work has a season ticket, but isn’t going reckon the majority are behind him but a very vocal element of the crowd want him gone. His stint at Coventry wasn’t what you would call spectacular, or Fulham for that matter.

For me the question of Islam Slimani joining up
with the Algerian national squad should not even be
    up for debate.

    He’s 30 in June ffs !

He should be retired from international footy and
grasping this opportunity in the last chance saloon
    with both hands
