Rafa Could Leave If Ashley Refuses To Sign This Player

Rafa Benitez has said that the way Newcastle do their transfer business needs to change.

We missed out on several top targets last summer, but that was mainly because Newcastle didn’t have the money of other Premier League clubs.

And as usual Mike Ashley didn’t want to spend money and preferred to have the finances look better so he could sell the club.

But Mike Ashley will still likely be the owner this summer, and if Newcastle don’t go out and sign players quickly, then Rafa could leave.

He will see this as a test to see if Ashley has the same level of ambition the Spaniard has for Newcastle.

The answer to that seems like it’s a no.

A great test case is Kenedy, who seems to be available for  £15M from Chelsea.

A rare smile from Rafa Benitez as Kenedy gets a standing ovation on Saturday

If Ashley dithers on this one that would be proof that Rafa cannot work with an owner who will not spend the money to make Newcastle into a top team.

West Ham – if they survive the drop – are likely to go after Rafa this summer to appease their frustrated fans.

Here are some tweets from Geordie fans regarding Kenedy.

Signing Kennedy for 15 million should be easily achievable with a club of our size and income!!

No reason why we should be paying 15 million up front either seeing as every club in the world pays installments to buy players !!

Him and Dubruvka for about 20 million is looking pretty good business !

This blog reminds me of womens
magazines in the UK 20 years ago.
They knew if they had a pic of princess Diana
on the cover they would treble their sales.
If Ed mentions anything about Rafa leaving
    his hits go up dramatically.

Lots of speculation that Chelsea will sell the player, however, I suppose it hinges on whether or not Chelsea plan a pre-season tour of the Far East or not?

One plus that Ash might consider signing Kenedy is…..future resale value.

That’s unless he is still wanting to sell and in that case no chance will he dip into his pockets to pay 15 million.

Can see him pocketing as much money as he can before selling, quoting the development of the academy or grass cutters wages were huge and no money left

Also does anyone know if we have a sell on percentage for Thauvin?

Would be good if we got a couple million back if Marseille sell him on this season

That’s the thing would Ashley really do the whole “clubs up for sale” so no money spent all through the summer when everyone in the world knows we would be sitting on record money?

Wouldn’t put it past him but it be his biggest move yet !
