Report – Newcastle Want To Sign 27-Year-Old Spanish Free Agent This Summer

Rafa Benitez will try to bring in several transfer targets early this summer to bolster the Newcastle squad.

It will be a test for Mike Ashley that he delivers the goods early for Rafa this summer and gives his some decent funds to sign good players.

That’s if the owner wants Rafa to stay at Newcastle and sign a new long-term contract.

We are still fighting relegation, but the signs in the last few games are that loan signings Dubravka and Kennedy are making a difference to the side.

27-year-old Dani Garcia – a free agent this summer

That’s coupled with the lads starting to learn from the mistakes they made earlier in the season.

That’s good news, and we hope we can avoid yet another relegation.

THere’s a report in the Spanish publication AS that Newcastle are interested in signing Dani Garcia from Eibar.

Newcastle watched Eibar last season when Florian Lejeune was one of our top targets so our scouts should know all about Garcia.

Garcia will become a free agent in the summer after four years at Eibar.

Rafa will definitely be bringing a holding midfielder into the team this summer and Garcia could be the player he wants.

But with Garcia being a free agent there will be some significant competition for his signature.

Garcia joined Eibar back in 2014 from Real Sociedad and 215 games for Eibar with 3 goals and 4 assists.

What do you think?

Looking st the photos that Jib posted earlier Slimani looks to be quite mobile. Does this mean we’ll have to let him go on International duty?

Not sure Martoon, I think the player himself will have a lot of say in the matter. Surely he could explain to the National manager why he can’t make it. If he does insist on going then it says a lit about him.

Unless of course the National manager tells him he’ll never play again

Rabah Madjer has named him in the Algeria squad
to face Tanzania and Iran in friendlies.

I think Rafa’s diplomatic skills will be tested to the full.

Seriously, though – if the lad is fully fit, let him play. 2 competitive matches for his national team will surely get him closer to match fitness than 45 minutes against Antwerp.

Yes, it’s a risk, but Rafa wouldn;t let him go if he wasn’t ready. If he plays for Algeria, we should see it as a positive that he’ll be ready for Hudds and sharper than he would otherwise have been

Robleenio – It’s not just the games but all the travelling and intense training sessions while away. These all put a strain on the body especially if you’ve just recovered from an injury!

The problem being if he plays it will
mean a game in Teheran on the
evening of Tuesday 27th March with
our game vs Huddersfield 4 days later
with very little time together with the squad.

While it would be nice for him to play here
in front of 95,000 Iranian footy fanatics
I’d rather he stayed with our squad

I don’t think Slimani is in FULL training.
