The Price Is Set For Newcastle Goalkeeper

Newcastle will be trying to sell goalkeeper Matz Sels this summer, and there is a report the club will want between £5M to £6M for the 26-year-old

That’s what Belgian outlet DH.be is reporting after we paid a fee reported to be £6.5M for Matz from Gent almost two years ago.

So basically we want our money back on Sels who was the first choice goalkeeper for the first three months of our Championship promotion season before being replaced by Karl Darlow.

Karl was then the first choice until the last few games of the promotion season when Rob Elliot came back in after injury.

Matz Sels – in action at Aston Villa in 2016

The Belgian report is that we will go down as low as £4.5M to get the goalkeeper off the books.

Sels played 14 times for Newcastle and has appeared 27 times in all competitions for Anderlecht this season; the Belgian club are said to be keen to make the deal permanent.

Newcastle are expected to pick up the option to buy on loan signing Martin Dubravka from Sparta Prague who looks to be a top goalkeeper who is playing really well for us.

The fee is set at €4M, which is around £3.5M.

That’s an excellent deal for Newcastle.

Tsunki I didn’t get a mention either. However who was the it who did a more recent list of the bloggers. Surely this was more relevant and I was one of the top boys on that! So clearly the list compiler is a man of deep wisdom 🙂
