Pictures From Newcastle’s Friendly Against Royal Antwerp

Here are some of the pictures published in the Chronicle today during the 135-minute long friendly against Royal Antwerp which finished in a 1-1 draw.

Newcastle went ahead in the first period through Matt Richie and it looks like we should have scored more goals but missed several good chances.

The Belgian side equalized early in the third period and then Dwight Gayle missed a penalty near the end of the game.

1-1 was the result but we will need to have better finishing in our next Premier League game on March 31st at home to Huddersfield Town – in what is a relegation 6 pointer.

Howay The Lads!!

And here are pictures of the faithful Newcastle fans who made the journey to south-east Spain to see the game – they are the salt of the earth for Newcastle United FC.

It’s laughable to think that Benitez would throw a three-period extended training and toning kickabout and expect his players to win at a sprint going in all guns blazing, thereby picking up knocks and injuries on the process and undoing all the fitness working preparation for the REAL football we must play against Huddersfield.

You have to slap yourself about the face and rub your eyes to comprehend the utter goons and planks who come on here trying to use training games as a forum for their uneducated and uninformed backwash. They need to spend their downtime educating themselves by associating with people who know the first thing about the game rather than jump on the forum and emblazon their moronic ineptitude for all to ridicule 🙂

    Antwerp

Did pack their defense for most of the game so it could be seen as a good workout against opposition who just want to defend.

I did say yesterday that it wouldn’t be a gung ho type of game so as to avoid injuries although there were a couple of times when it could have got a bit nasty. In fact the ref blew the final whistle just as it looked as if there was going to be a bit of a melee.

So, Jib – when’s your punch up with runaway? 🙂

Runaway just a bit of advice if jib really has been a rugger player in times gone by, speaking from experience you might want to check if he’s a lock or a prop before offering him your satnavs co-ordinates 😀

Dwight Gayle 289 minutes per goal 1447 minutes played, ok lets be honest here when you read this you have got to think WTF, 5 goals in the Premiership. Now lets look at a player who wanted to play for us but someone at the club didn’t think it was that important. Cenk Tosun went to Everton because they paid the money,106 minutes per goal 424 minutes played, so you see a ton different, but let just say we actually need to lower the amount that Cenk has played, to be honest this is his first season in the premiership and he only signed in January and it takes a few games to get adjusted to the pace, so that’s 4 goals in about five games. Yes Ed, Newcastle fans have wondered why we are the same week in week out most of the time, well that what MA thinks. If only he listened to his fans and manager we would not be in another fight and worrying who will be scoring the goals. Royal Antwerp ROFL.

Antwerp didn’t much look like they wanted much possession as the game went on. They looked like us against man city a lot of the time lol

    RUNAWAY777,
You are so stupid it was actually endearing but today’s outpour has stripped that away. It was a friendly, as meaningful as a game of pool on one of those six sided tables. The idea was to give everyone a kick about while avoiding injury.
It’s very telling that you and kimbo weren’t around to offer your opinions of the Soton game.

Sunderland are no longer “in trouble”.

That expression is only used when there’s a possibility no matter how slim that you can get out of it.

Is there any coincidence that certain characters pop up to have a dig here after a well publicised stunt by a brave Newcastle fan at the stadium of desperation?

Howay man, you have to admit you asked for it with your ‘critique’ of Newcastle’s lacklustre showing in the make or break, crunch match, game of 3 halves with Antwerp..?
