Pundit Predicts Newcastle vs Huddersfield Result

Former Newcastle striker Michael Owen is a  pundit for BT Sports, and he also predicts Premier League games for BetVictor.

Michael has talked about the crucial game coming up on Saturday against fellow relegation strugglers Huddersfield.

And the good news for us is that we seem to have very few players injured and even Islam Slimani is fit to play and may end up on the bench on Saturday.

Matt Ritchie – should be available on Saturday?

Matt Ritchie also looks like he will be able to play after withdrawing from the Scottish squad earlier this week with a slight injury.

This is what Michael Owen wrote in BetVictor:

“Huddersfield have failed to score in their last three Premier League games.”

“And I feel they will struggle against a Newcastle side who have won their last two home fixtures in the league.”

“Dwight Gayle is the Magpies’ top PL scorer with five so far this season.”

“Which highlights the fact that United have struggled for goals this term.”

“But they put three past Southampton in their last game and I expect the hosts to keep the points in a low scoring contest.”

“Tip is Newcastle to win at 3/4.”

Hopefully tomorrow we can score some goals like we did last time out in the fantastic 3-0 home win against the Saints.

Newcastle have played 9 league games this year, and we have a decent 13 points from those games – three wins and four draws and defeats at Manchester City and Liverpool.

But Huddersfield are a difficult team to beat – but that’s what we need to do on Saturday to take us to a good 35 points from 31 games played.

Let’s hope that Matt Ritchie is able to play as he’s officially being assessed by the Newcastle medics, but we expect him to play on the right wing.

A win would be just fabulous on Saturday.

Here’s where are at the moment in the Premier League.

    More mythology from Owen

“Dwight Gayle is the Magpies’ top PL scorer with
five so far this season.highlighting the fact that
United have struggled for goals this term.”

Although to be fair he isn’t the only one.

Out of the bottom 10 clubs only West Ham
and Bournemouth have scored more than us.
We have goals from the greatest number of
different players , which is common in Benitez’
    sides.

Our recent record against the Terriers isn’t great, but prior to the break we seemed to be picking up a bit of momentum, which hopefully the lads will still be carrying after a 3 week break. I suspect there is only 1 goal in this game, so hopefully it will be us scoring it.

Well I always have a little bet on the correct score for Newcastle games and I have only won twice this season both times when they have won 3-0 against West Ham and Southampton so guess what my score prediction is going to be on Saturday?
