Newcastle fans seem unconvinced about the new story today that once Newcastle are safe in the Premier League he will increase his efforts significantly to sell the club.
One concern is that he will now withhold transfer fees from Rafa until the club is sold, and that may not even happen in the summer.
There could be mischief here and Ashley MUST give Rafa cash to spend in the summer – and early in the summer too.
Mike Ashley – looking excited to be at Newcastle?
But Newcastle fans are sick of Ashley and think he’s simply trying to sell season tickets or creating another excuse why he shouldn’t spend much money this summer.
One thing we cannot do it to get ahead of ourselves.
The takeover stuff from last October through early January coincided with Newcastle going on a terrible streak of results.
We got only one point from 9 games – if that happens again we could be relegated.
We must concentrate on getting Newcastle to safety starting with a win tomorrow against the Terriers.
And we’re 100% sure that’s what Rafa will emphasize in his press conference today for the game tomorrow.
Here are some typical tweets from Newcastle fans about the news.
Mike Ashley saying he’ll try and sell #NUFC is the equivalent of me telling my lass I’m gonna clean and tidy.

More Ashley propaganda to smoke out genuine interest or maybe to smoke out Amanda? #nufc

Might be cynical, but these ‘Ashley will renew attempts to sell the club’ makes me think it’s already an excuse not to invest any cash for players #NUFC

Mike Ashley will renew efforts to sell #NUFC when premier league status is guaranteed.
Or, translated into the usual rhetoric, Ashley will renew efforts to lie about the possible sale of NUFC to minimise any possible new signings and to get the hopes up of the fans. #ashleyout

I dare suggest ‘takeover’ talk will ‘accidentally’ leak from the club the months before every transfer window at #NUFC from now on until Ashley leaves. The new filler to pass away the time. Raking it in.

This is a great point by Andy Armstrong
Kenedy would ‘love to continue wearing the shirt after the summer’, Ashley going to renew his efforts into selling club once PL status is confirmed, all this coming out a day before the biggest game of our season? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. A job needs done tomorrow! #NUFC

Mike Ashley selling rumours starting again means only one thing, season ticket renewals are due. Fuck off you parasite, it’s getting boring now #nufc
— John Witherspoon (@JohnSpoon1983) March 30, 2018
I was sitting next to Steven Taylor’s father that day, he introduced me to Mike Ashley at half time, we had a discussion about the future of #Nufc and his plans for the club.
What was said, certainly never happened

And the one man that counts at Newcastle – RAFAEL BENITEZ.
“He has brought the club together and the city together.
He is an excellent manager… He knows what it takes to be successful. It has only been positive since he arrived.” Skipper ??
RA RA RA RA RAFA BENITEZ!!! #nufc
(Mike Ashley continues as ever to concern me)
