There’s was a report in Brazil this week where Newcastle’s on-loan winger Kenedy has said he would be happy to join Newcastle permanently (such a great club) if both sides could agree to that in the summer.
Kenedy has said he’s very happy playing regularly for Newcastle United- something he was unable to do at Chelsea.
And during the press conference today for the Huddersfield game tomorrow Rafa Benitez was asked about Kenedy.
Rafa Benitez – gives a wry smile as he congratulates Kenedy after Saints win
This is what Rafa said:
“There are a lot of good players doing really well here this year. We have to wait, but if the player is happy that is great.”
“But the decision depends on Chelsea too, but I hope he can repeat his Southampton performance.” “Then we will see later.”
“If the player is happy, that’s good news for us.”
But before we think too much of what will happen with the young Brazilian in the summer we have to become safe in the Premier League first.
And a win against the Terriers tomorrow will help us do that.
It would be a fantastic win for us – if we can do it.
Howay The Lads!!

i don’t think for one minute rafa ballsed it up with Mitro. mitro is doing well at fulham and good luck to him.
However, mitro never suited our game plan where every man jack has to give 100% for every one of those 90+ minutes, every single match, not just now and then.

Yeah maybe but you can still say if you think he will or not based on his time with Leicester or at sporting if you saw much of him. Different to say he will or he won’t and tbh it’s difficult to judge him. He’s hardly played since Christmas, will likely make an appearance off the bench tomorrow, he’ll miss the next game v Leicester. So essentially he’s just building fitness and match sharpness.

Comment #22I didn’t watch him at Porto and he didn’t seem to play for Leicester much, we do know that he wasn’t at the top of Rafa’s list but another one Charnleys rummaged round for, his signing was received positively on here though. Hopefully we’ll see him introduced at some stage and he bsts a gut to impress, not literally that is.

Comment #24He’s a good striker tbh, but similar in style to mitrovic. Didn’t play much for Leicester but first season he made about 20-25 appearances I think. It’s when ranieri left he got sidelined. He wasn’t first choice I agree, that was supposedly Jorgensen who is decent but frowned upon on here because of his price tag being higher than it should. I think the point I’m trying to make is a few posters say mitro didn’t suit Rafas gameplan but if they’ve seen either slimani or Jorgensen, then they cant say either of them two do either.
But regardless, get slimani on the pitch, put in decent crosses as he’s a beast in the air. Hopefully he’ll get a good start for us after being out for so long. Will be difficult as expectation will be high and a lot of eyes on him.

Comment #25Think that’s the team tomorrow too, possibly a little doubt that Ritchie will start. He might go with atsu. Depends on the injury/knock/precaution.

Comment #28Wilshere leaving Arsenal in the summer apparently, Everton favourites to sign him with us and West Ham showing big interest. Two things, as if that’s likely under Ashley and please pass. Too injury prone and I’m sick of us signing or gambling on sick notes.

The team picks itself, with maybe Yedlin and Ritchie rested. A fit Slimani will have the same positive impact as Kenedy and Dubravka. Never overly confident when it comes to one match, but with Dubravka, Kenedy and Slimani all now in the frame, I am confident we will stay up.

Comment #37I think Atkinson reffed one of our home games this season, ronaldo, and I’m sure he had a good game. Can’t remember who we were playing though (more importantly, can’t be bothered to look it up).
Either way, he’s a Leeds fan as has been pointed out. For all he can be a bit dodgy, he’s not as bad as some. Just a shame quality of refereeing in England is bloody atrocious.
Also I’ll never forgive the kernt for Ben Arfa.
