Newcastle Field Unchanged Side Against Huddersfield – Slimani On Bench

Rafa has just announced his team for the crucial game at home this afternoon to Huddersfield Town – who are also struggling against relegation.

As expected the team is unchanged from the one that started in the league three weeks ago and got that excellent 3-0 win at home to Southampton.

Islam Slimani – could make his debut this afternoon

82% of our fans think we will win this game so let’s hope they are right and then we can all celebrate at 5:00pm.

We need all 3 points today.

I know we can’t rely on other matches, but Palace losing will help. Can Southampton and WHU both lose too?

Good old Salah get in lad.

Having seen Palace on quite a few occasions this season I am really surprised they are doing so poorly they have the best team in the bottom 10 and always cause any team a threat but happy days they are doing bad better news for us.

Surprised to see yedlin start after his international exploits, hope he doesn’t pick up a knock or anything. Surprised that merino isn’t on the bench. Other than that, line up is what it is, looking to be our best team. Hopefully get a performance like that too.

Only one I got wrong was Mbemba who isn’t even on bench. Must be well out of favour!

About as good a team as we can field. Mooy might be playing but will he be 100% or is it all hands to the pump? We will see…

Not a bad bench either but merino must be crocked – bit of a shame that as he offers a tactical swap to our shape.

It would be a massive thing on Rafa Benitez’s CV if and when Newcastle stays up. He has won the Champions League, La Liga, but to fight the lack of money, the owner openly trying to sell the club and all the questions about that every week. I think the has done a really good job.

…All we are sayin’ is give us a goal!

1-0 will do, don’t care who scores, even an OG is enough.

Three more wins, then we can dream.

Concentrate and fight for 95 minutes. All we are sayin’…

Frontrow sports is probably the best way to go if you want to fullscreen the game. The third or 4th link works nicely.

Lejeune playing with fire with that challenge. Good job he got the ball clean and the man was half a yard short of the ball. Gayle greedy on the counter.
