Rafa Wants Deal For Winger Completed Before World Cup – Good Test For Ashley

Newcastle have recently been linked with Gent’s Moses Simon this summer and the 22-year-old is one of Nigeria’s best players heading into the World Cup in Russia.

Newcastle scouts have been watching the left winger who can also play as an upfront or withdrawn striker.

There’s news in Own Goal Nigeria that Newcastle (Rafa Benitez) want the deal done before the World Cup starts on June 14th.

That would be in Newcastle’s best interests, but whether his club Gent will agree to that, we don’t know.

Usually, clubs want to wait until after the World Cup or Euros to give a chance for their player to shine in the tournament and then they can raise the transfer fee.

Moses Simon – Gent’s classy winger

Think about Moussa Sissoko playing for France two years ago when he looked world-class in Euro 2016, and we got £30M for him from Spurs on August 31st two years ago.

Liverpool are also reported to be very interested in the player who is priced at around £13M.

Simon could be attracted to the Reds, but he will have a hard time getting a lot of games at Liverpool with the talent Liverpool have, but they do on the other hand offer European Football.

At the moment Newcastle do not.

This could be a good test of owner Mike Ashley and Managing Director Lee Charnley to get this player signed quickly.

And Rafa will be keen to see if Ashley has changed his ways and is at willing to do transfers a lot more quickly than in previous windows.

As we said, this will be a good test of Mike Ashley (very) early this summer.

I havent actually seen this lad play. Someone mentioned he is rapid. Anyone seen him or what he is like? I mean is good but if it is headless pace like Obertan then whats the point.

Don’t think he’ll go to Liverpool. Read an interview with him where he stated he wants to come to England but only if he’s guaranteed game time.
Of course, he won’t get that guarantee anywhere, certainly not from Rafa who picks players on form and how they do in training. However, he would clearly have a better chance of getting picked for us than Liverpool.

G2. Damn, thought I’d gotcha. 🙂 🙂 Still, at least you know you’re not the only one in Canada mate! Get down to Oak Island and form the Canadian branch of our supporters club with him, he seems a jolly nice chap. 🙂
Just purely out of curiosity, how many other Mags do you know from your area?

Granted it’s, difficult to judge from clips, but he clearly has a head on his shoulders, not just head down and run al la Obertan.

A quick deal? You can’t have a quick deal with Ashley and Penfold.

I watched the first couple of seasons of The Oak Island Mystery but gave up as they never seemed to be getting anywhere, fact that it’s still running makes me think it never will.

Bill, Aye, they’re getting their money’s worth out of it alright. I first read about the mystery in a Reader’s Digest when I was still in school I think, or at least just after. Tbh I think the ex slave who bought the land found most of it. He always bought everything with gold and silver coins after all. He got them from somewhere.
Love a mystery though, so I’ve got this far I might as well see it through. They must be close to running out of money soon!! 🙂

Is he a winger or a forward? Certainly looks pacey and can pick a pass from the little I’ve seen online. However, our priority signing has to be an out and out goal scorer plus another cf. Won’t come cheap but its an investment Ashley just has to agree to get us otherwise next season will be more of the same missed chances. It will be interesting to see where Mitro ends up, would Rafa give him another go?

Here’s a name for you, if you aren’t already aware of him. Jordan B Peterson.

And an example of his thinking.

And so since the 1970s, under the guise of postmodernism, we’ve seen the rapid expansion of identity politics throughout the universities, it’s come to dominate all of the humanities – which are dead as far as I can tell – and a huge proportion of the social sciences […] We’ve been publicly funding extremely radical, postmodern leftist thinkers who are hellbent on demolishing the fundamental substructure of Western civilization. And that’s no paranoid delusion. That’s their self-admitted goal […] Jacques Derrida […] most trenchantly formulated the anti-Western philosophy that is being pursued so assiduously by the radical left.

I most definitely think we can and will beat Leicester on Saturday, the teams confidence is growing and Rafa has the engine ticking over nicely.

It wouldn’t surprise me if we won by a few and kept another clean sheet into the bargain.

‘ll be a faster more technical team by next season if Rafa is still with us. No Mitro, no Gayle. Possibly no Ritchie?

Being linked with this guy is a worry. Surely Benitez can’t be spending 12m on this guy plus 15-20m on Kenedy in the same position. I’m guessing Kenedy is much better. We also have Murphy and Atsu for left wing and this guy seems a carbon copy of Atsu.

Going through some my old Vinyl today and was playing Northumbrian Folk from BBCs Folk On Two (1971) and was interested to read that Bob Davenport of the Marsden Rattlers and Eric Burdon were both great-great nephews of George Ridley. Just a bit of trivia. 🙂

That bloke looks good but Kennedy and atsu? I have a feeling atsu will go. Rafa has to be careful. The 12 mill he spent on Murphy may be an investment but needed to be spent on the priority position – striker.

How did rafa’s other big target get on , the Swansea striker. I know he didn’t pull up any trees but was he injured? Or did we miss a bullet? Looks decent enough when l see him and Swansea are no great shakes. Thoughts?

I know you banged the Carr drum once or twice Munster despite him pulling those gems out. We have since been told by Rafa how it works, the scout(s) and manager hand over a list of targets and then Churnley via Ashley get to work on them which invariably leads to the first four not being available, hence players like Riverie and Joselu. You laid the blame for everything at Carr’s feet just as you do Rafa’s.

About Carr, yeah, I believe everyone in world football knew about Riviere as well. However, what they knew was the he was shit. Obviously Carr had a different idea.
Stillhe brought in Cabaye and that season when we finished 5th will still be remembered for some time. Feels a long way away these days.

    swemag,
It boils my pi$$ how Carr gets the blame for Riverie after it has been SPELLED out by Rafa how our transfer policy works, Riverie was behind the pecking order from Gomis and that other kid who was shite who West Ham bought. How many strikers are there actually out there who fit the U25, want only 25K a week and willing to move to a bigger club the minute a decent offer comes in? Oh, and available for 5/6M pounds.

    How about this 11 Rafa.

    …………………..Dubravka.
    Yedlin….Lascelles…Lejeune….Dummett.
    ……………Shelvey……Diame.
    …Mahrez……….Perez………Kenedy.
    ………………….Vardy.

That side, coached by Benitez, would dish out thoroughgoing drubbings to the bottom half and have 50 points after 30 games.
