Newcastle Fans Flood To Twitter – Rafa Is A Genius – A God

What a fantastic job Rafa Benitez has done this season at Newcastle with the team winning 2-1 at Leicester this afternoon to make it three wins on the trot.

This year since the beginning of January we are starting to come away with 19 points from our 11 league games and we have 13 points in the last 6 games and defeats only at Manchester City and Liverpool.

Newcastle are now in 10th place in the league and that’s the second highest we have ever finished in the 11 years of Mike Ashley’s reign at the club.

Newcastle fans have flooded Twitter to pay home to our manager.

Did I ever say he was the perfect manager for Newcastle United?

A few month ago, someone predicted on this blog that we would finish around 10th
Whilst at the time I didn’t laugh it off as a pipe dream ( at the time we couldn’t score to save our lives)…I did wish for it but found it hard to comprehend…whoever you are thank you for your belief in our family utd.
SURELY….from August it’s on wards and upwards….surely Mr A can’t…won’t, cock this one up?
    Howay the lads

Really annoys me when people say… oh wat a good player dummett is wat a great job rafa has done on him!
Dummett has always been the same thing defended first
He has always been solid its just that people that think that are only coming round to the fact that thats wat a defender is for!!!!!

Spot in Manxpie. I loved his recent interview when he said that the crowd were singing his name… “They normally shout Dummet you’re sh1te”. Wonderful self-deprecation and good sense of humour. He’s on the way to being a Toon legend.

Nah Dummet has come on a lot these past 2 years. Was always a solid enough defender, but lacked confidence probably due to the fact he made the transition from CB to LB under shite managers that had no faith in him (he’s on record saying Pardew didn’t particularly like him), but now he’s almost imperious as a defensive fullback in the league.

His composure on the ball and taking a moment to make the right pass has definitely improved. I imagine that’s tactical instruction and the confidence that comes with a manager that believes he can play a bit. Lone gone are the days when he and Willo competed to see who could hoof it furthest and most frequently – but he still knows when to clear lines.

His crossing has always been pretty decent too, but now his understanding of when to move into space and when to hold is better. He used to be petrified of getting forward. Again just a sign of his growth and the work he’s done with coaches.

The one thing he’s always had is ability to know when to go to ground 1vs1 and when to stay on his feet, does that remarkably well and even today with the Mahrez incident, managed to pull out after a rare misjudgement in that regard.

Kept so many *star* players quiet this season.

Hail nah just think whos he had in front of him in his time in the team wiji for a start who weren’t even close to a left winger
My gripe is that he has always defended well but under rafa people are only just appreciating it

I’d just love it if we overhauled Everton in the table and contributed to Fat Sam getting the sack. In their remaining games, Everton play a lot of the teams who are in the relegation battle and each match will be a scrap for them.

Mike Ashley is not as stupid as some may think.
He knows he has a World Class manager who has just produced a miracle on a small budget. I think MA will think twice about not supporting this fantastic manager. His Sports Direct profile would be lifted to new heights and bring him business galore.
Go for it Mike, Rafa is ‘simply the best’. ?

Is a top ten finish, lifelong contract for Rafa, a takeover and £150 million summer budget to much to ask for?

Great result today. We really have players growing into premier league football. With a full season behind them, I’d be inclined to expect more next season. Lascelles will grow again. Dubravka will know more.
Clearly we need a striker, no.10 and probably right winger & centre mid. Who would you be looking at?

Dummet has come on , he has improved. Clearly. No one could say he’s at the same level he was at 2 years back , he was a decent player back then . A young un is either going to go backwards or stay roughly same level or Improve . What has Dummet done ? Answers on the proverbial.

Hey I had Fish n Chips for Dinner ..had to laugh when I spotted a bit of Batter on the plate that looked like a peni and testis ! Serious.

Iv seen spuds and root veg that would give anyone a laugh…

Shame the effect was spoilt as the balls were tiny.

Agreed but I think Allardyce is only there for the season as an interim manager to get them out of the relegation battle. Think he’ll be moved on by next season.
Only pity is that we gifted them 3 points at SJP.
Really would love to turn them over at Goodison Park.

Dummett is doing well now because he is finally sticking to his task and staying back to defend in a disciplined manner. And it has taken benitez to coach that into him.

Just thinking ..crossed my mind ..the old chants we used to belt out from the Leazes end in the 70’s

One daft one was “Its all gone quite over there “. Newcastle Fans have always been inventive when it comes to Football songs and chants.

What’s yer fav over the years ? Mitro one was a good un’ Nicked by some other club (Wigan?) who received an award for it , cheeky gets.

Terry Hibbit on the wing….. We went to West Ham we went to Sto….. Who the Fk is Man…

I’d better leave some . Leeds, Leeds and Leeds etc.. Grandfather sang one about Hughie Gallagher…If he doesn’t score a goal we’Ll put him on the Dole and we’Ll send him back to Scotland in the morning

    Old songs .

Rubbish tsunki you’re saying dummett was getting forward too much or out of position to often??
Name one game when that happened just 1!?
The actual thing that has happened is people have realised that defense is better than players like santon who did shit all going forward and did the same defensively

I always thought Dummett was very good defensively but fell to pieces when going forward. He has a better balance to his game seemingly the result of good coaching his defensive positioning and tackling are often his stronger points but that comprise when pushing on is coinciding with his game being upped imo

Aye Munster..used to see Mick at the dogs Brough park .. was always with my mate Graham’s Fatha who owned a chain of bookmakers. Good Keeper ..bit like Mike Hooper..I think Mick Mahoney was one of our best Keepers, looking back… Alaways bumped into Jinky at the dogs ..come to think of it most of the first team got there.
