Paul Merson Predicts Newcastle vs Arsenal

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson seems to be warming to Newcastle after we have picked up a good 19 points in our 11 games since mid-December when we lost 1-0 at Arsenal.

Paul predicted a 2-1 defeat at the King Power Stadium last Saturday, but we won that game 2-1.

Arsenal are playing CSKA Moscow in the Europa League tonight in Russia, and that’s a long trip for the Gunners.

Paul isn’t predicting a defeat for the Magpies on Sunday afternoon but not a win either – he reckons it will end in a 2-2 draw:

“Newcastle have been alright recently. They will give you chances but they will have a go while Arsenal will have had a long trip to Russia on Thursday.”

“Arsenal have not been great but they have won games recently, so credit where it is due.”

“After a load of hard fixtures they have had easy fixtures and they have put those teams to bed at home.”

“You can’t ask for much more. They have done well considering they were up against it.”

Paul predicts 2-2

Maybe it’s because we have won three games in a row and recently beaten Manchester United at St. James’ Park and while 2-2 would be a good result for us – we’d like the lads to win this game against the Gunners.

The would be our fourth win in a row and our fourth win in a row at home since we hammered the Red Devils 1-0 in that memorable game televised live around the world.

We’ll get at least a point out of this game.

Someone mentioned Tammy and asked why should we question a rafa decision ‘re transfers. Apart from a bloke like Jail who clearly can’t see they wood from the trees, why shouldn’t we question or even criticise rafa on a transfer. If anything rafa would expect and welcome it seeing as he is happy to interact so strongly with fans, and more power to him. Nobody expects a perfect record by the way.

I was wondering if we’d see young Murphy get a game or two now, he was doing well then we ain’t seen him again.

Wonder if Rafa is still keeping tabs on his brother, he scored w belter last week.

I think everyone myself included must have wondered what signing Dubruvka was all about I did see him play against Scotland and thought he was immense but thats all his career had amounted to at the time Kennedy was potential but has hit the ground running as well!

Fair play to Rafa for picking them he will get slated for deals that haven’t worked out but hes sitting on a pretty healthy success record for overall players signed for the Toon!

We were quite physical against Leicester the only danger with being like that against Arsenal is the level of play acting they do the second anyone comes near them !!

This is a really good test for us would love us to beat them live on Sky

Turns out that lad from turkey, ozyakup is signing a new deal at besiktas. Supposedly will have a release clause so will not be on a free if we were in fact in for him.
