Can Newcastle Make It Four Wins In A Row Against Arsenal?

Newcastle remain in 10th place after yesterday’s games which generally went in Newcastle favor.

The club above Newcastle in the league table Everton drew 1-1 at Swansea, and Leicester City in 8th place lost again – this time 2-1 at Burnley.

Teams just below Newcastle – Bournemouth, Watford, and Brighton all lost so if we can get anything against Arsenal today it will help solidify our position in 10th place.

Rafa Benitez – last week at Leicester

Southampton lost again – at home to Chelsea 3-2 after being 2-0 up after 70 minutes, and West Brom are at Manchester United in the late game today.

Tomorrow West Ham are at home to Stoke City, and if both West Brom and Stoke lose (or even draw), they will be that much closer to the drop.

With Leicester City losing again we are now closer to them in the league table and a win today against the Gunners will take us to within 2 points of them.

We’ll take a draw today but a win would be fantastic.

Anybody else think it would be a good idea to move the ‘next post’ up a bit?

Ah Lesh, if you’re going to talk royalty, then we might have a discussion on paedophilia matey. But maybe not on here mores the pity.
Right now the only royalty in discussion is Rafa – the crowned king of the hill.
Imagine him being here for a decade? I have no doubt in my mind that if we had Rafa here for a decade our search for silverware would end. You could put your house on it.
Maybe not the PL title, unless some oligarch takes us over, but a successful trip to Wembley would definitely be on the cards, even with the knacka in charge if he backed him.

My biggest worry today is that we will completely dominate the game and then a tackle like those against Leicester will result in a red card due to the cheating amateur dramatics we see so often from the Arsenal (and Chelsea) players.

If we go in hard – which we will – then they will roll around whingeing.

Newton’s first law of simulation – for every action there is an equal and opposite over-reaction.

I think apart from the bottom three – who already look a knocking bet for the drop – the only club who could still get dragged into it are, unfortunately, Brighton. Their final run of games is horrendous.
It would still mean one of those already down there winning a couple of games at least, but I worry for Chris Houghton if that should happen. Not sure where they get another win from.

I think that is Einstein you are miss quoting.

If Slimani starts knocking goals in we could finish higher than Leicester, plus Fat Sam.

    A Pain in the Blog,
I’ve said it time and time again, if a player can be carded after the game for violent conduct then surely he should be punished for clutching his face and rolling around like he’s been shot after minimal co tact.

I’m not sure about that Bobby, I watched MotD this morning and they were unlucky not to get a point, can you see Stoke or Soton winning three of their last five?

Might be nice if on the 24th minute the crowd broke into applause for Tiote. Can’t think of a better day to celebrate him than against the team he scored that thunderbolt, completing the most memorable comeback in PL history. Probably too late to organise now sadly.

Agreed Jail, retrospective action should surely apply to simulation!

Genuinely believe this is our best chance to chin Arsenal in years, Ayoze will be in their faces pressing everything that moves, Big Mo will feel like they’re playing against a car in the middle of the park, then at the back Lascelles will be Lascelles 🙂
Also set up nicely for Slimani to get at their CBs, as someone pointed out recently Shane Long was able to bully them the other day so Slimani should be a nightmare for them!
