Benitez – Newcastle Fans Are Spectacular – They’re Really Proud Of What’s Happening

Rafa Benitez turned the ripe old age of 58 yesterday and he received birthday wished from all over Europe and many from Newcastle fans.

We are all hoping that Rafa will sign a new deal to stay at Newcastle long term – even if Mike Ashley – is still currently the owner.

And it seems like he really appreciates the support and adoration he gets from the Newcastle fans.

We all know now that Rafa has done another fabulous job for the club this season and we have every chance of finishing in the top half of the Premier League.

Given where we were after we had taken only one point in nine games in mid-December – that’s amazing.

Rafa Benitez – doing what he loves best – coaching players

Rafa gave a lengthy interview yesterday with Spanish station Radio Marca to celebrate his 58th birthday.

This is what he said about the Newcastle fans:

“They are spectacular.”

“A fan sent me a cup, the same as my first cup as Newcastle manager. It’s a cup made out of chocolate in the shape of the Championship Trophy.”

“The person who sent me it is one of the fans who’s been a permanent fixture at home games for a long time and told me: ‘You’ve restored our belief and our pride. We’re together.’”

“They’re really proud of what’s happening with the team at the minute.”

“The fans of Newcastle United value above anything else that those in the black-and-white shirt are committed and give everything.”

“That’s what they’ve got with these players and that’s why they value them so much.”

Newcastle are well placed at the moment, and we are hoping some exciting things will happen this summer.

The club could be sold, and Rafa could get an extended contract and significant transfer money to put a squad together for next season that can challenge for a top-six finish in the Premier League.

That’s what we are hoping for, and it could happen too.

What do you think?

Rafa seems to be able to say the right words at the correct time.

Charnely & Ashley must be livid that he has the whole city on side and they cant pop their head up anywhere at any point for fear of being lambasted in public.

    Everton have

    Maarten Stekelenburg,
    Mason Holgate,
    Eliaquim Mangala,
    James McCarthy
    Gylfi Sigurdsson

    all out injured

so much for Fat Sam’s wondrous
    modern training technology for
    avoiding player downtime

It’s rubbish. Of course we deluded Toon fans expect to be winning the League every year or we’re not satisfied!

Don’t be surprised it attitudes towards him soften, if he does actually back Rafa in the way he should.

Not saying we’ll grow to love him, tolerate perhaps.

i would be very surprised if there was any softening of attitudes towards Ashley maybe a slight chance on here but definitely not in and around the city and definitely not in the ground if he ever turns up again

This is what Rafa said about the Newcastle fans:

    “They are spectacular.”

“A fan sent me a rune, the same as my first cup as Newcastle manager. It’s a rune made out of wood in the shape of the Championship Trophy.”

    EGB, you’re famous…

He just seems to have the nack of saying things as well in a way where he drops little hints to Charnley & Ashley without actually ever calling or criticising them.

    Perfect

@8 I hope no one else could be so gullible to be fooled again by the fat parasite, too many bridges have been burned over the years, nil credibility now. Past time to move on, I want to get back to St James park again, never entering as long as the FCB is in charge.
