Rafa To Let Some Good Players Leave This Summer – Including This One

It’s a question a lot of Newcastle fans have – why has Rafa hardly used Chancel Mbemba since he arrived at the club over two years ago.

There was talk that Chancel did not always carry out the manager’s instructions but when Chancel fille din at left-back Paul Dummett early this season he looked a good player.

In fact every time he’s come in for Newcastle he has played well and he was a star player in our relegation season.

And Chancel loves the club and we’re sure he would love to stay, but with so little playing time it’s probably best for him to leave this summer.

Chancel Mbemba –  against Tottenham last August after coming on for the injured Dummett

Our on-loan goalkeeper at Anderlecht Matz Sels has been interviewed in SportFoot today and he’s another one who cannot understand why Chancel doesn’t play much:

“For me, he’s one of the best defenders at Newcastle United.” “Why does he play so little?”

“I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes.”

Rafa will be letting some other good players such as Matz Sels himself, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Jack Colback, Achraf Lazaar, Henri Saivet, and Rolando Aarons leave the club this summer.

We may never know why Rafa doesn’t rate Chancel – who is a favorite with Newcastle fans because of his good play and the fact he just loves Newcastle.

But that’s Rafa – he knows the players he wants to keep at the club.

We are not going to argue with him.

🙂

What do you think?

The legacy of live music on the Fish Quay is alive and well, though maybe on a smaller scale. The Low Lights Tavern has a buskers night every Friday (I think) featuring people of all ages just bringing instruments along and joining in. Judging from the chat on here, I maybe don’t need to tell a few of you about it and may have actually seen one or two of you in there.

Also, the Staith House has local bands on from time to time – couldn’t tell you how regularly.

The Fish Quay as a whole has been making a resurgence recently, well worth a wonder along with a nominated driver….

Anyone heard about how Colback’s been getting on? I heard at first he was doing well but nothing since.

    Anyone?

Not quite sure why Mwemba has been sidelined and you would think he might get on the bench for some of the remaining games but then again if Rafa is expecting max points he may well make no changes.

Wonder where Clark is in all this speculation . Solid player but may be vulnerable to Rafas longer term plans which probably means greater mobility in the back four

Next season – just wondering if home attendances at Exeter (SJP ) and Notts County in particular with Kevin Nolan and Shola against the Mackems might rocket if anyone fancies a day out. I’m sure the home fans would love to join in with our favouite repertoire of chants adapted for those matches.
The young uns won’t even know who Peter Reid is !
We could have more fans at those games than the Mackems.

lesh & Bianconeri (from last night)

I took my first girlfriend to the Cellar Club to watch Ewan McColl. She had never heard trad folk music and when he started wailing with his finger in his ear she just went into hysterics. She was shaking with her head buried in my chest. Much tut-tutting around us. When the song finished we left.

The night the Humblebums played there I was away on holiday. The lead singer of our band took The Big Yin back to his house in Lynemouth for the night. Had I been there it could have been me. Some of us just don’t get to be best mates with the celebs.

Maybe it’s because he has previously been registered with 3 different dates of birth. Although I hear he did get a doctor to say he tested him and was found to be 21. Still very odd he used to be older though

In answer to Dubai’s question regarding Colback the Forest fans a few weeks back were praying that somehow JC would accept less wages and sign for them next season. Fast forward to this last game against Ipswich and now they’re praying he Foxtrots Oscars at the end of the season. Talk about Fickle ? ?

It always strikes me as fanciful when I read stories about letting six or seven players go in the summer when we havent got the strongest squad or an owner who’s likely to stump up for that many new wage packets ?

The obvious departures are those on loan right now as Sels has already been replaced and the others arent regular first team squad members even if they were here, As for Mbemba he’s Mr Adaptable in defence and can play either CB or RB or even DM if Slo Mo gets injured or moves on so dont agree on this one.

It will be a pity if Chancel Mbemba is sold I have always rated him and he hardly puts a foot weong, a solid pro, versatile and still young. We ahould keep him in the squad incase of injuries.
