Newcastle To Make Profit When Star Is Sold This Summer

Newcastle paid about £14M to get Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to Newcastle three years ago, and it looks like we will be making a profit on the player this summer.

Mitro will be put on sale starting at £20M and Newcastle will hope for a bidding war for the striker who will attract Premier League clubs and other clubs across Europe.

While he has not been a complete success at Newcastle, his goals were vital to Serbia qualifying for the World Cup finals in Russia this summer.

That fee is not new, and back on March 8th, the £20M figure was also reported as the money Newcastle would be after for the striker Rafa Benitez seems willing to sell this summer.

Aleksandar Mitrovic – 23-year-old Newcastle and Serbian International striker

Mitro hasn’t done that well since Rafa Benitez arrived at the club even though the Serbian striker has complimented the Newcastle manager many times.

But it’s better for the player to move on from Newcastle, the team he supported as a boy in Belgrade when the great Alan Shearer was his hero.

The People are reporting that Rafa Benitez is keen to press ahead this summer and Mitrovic is not in his plans.

Fulham will be interested in the striker if they are promoted with Mitro having already scored 11 goals in 15 games for the Cottagers; Championship Champions Wolves are also said to be interested.

Brighton were also interested in the striker in January.

If Serbia do well in the World Cup and Mitro shines his price could go up beyond 20M so look for some clubs to try to sign Mito before the Wolrd Cup beings on June 14th.

Mitro played 72 times for Newcastle with 17 goals and has 33 caps for Serbia with 13 goals.

Think we’ll struggle to get a decent/ if any profit from selling mitro, just hope that if he and other players are to be sold that its done quick and not dragged out with excuses then that stops incoming transfers….but with the world cup on this summer i doubt this will happen tbh.

Precisely the point. Most clubs only need two strikers if they’re playing 1 up front. Assuming we bring in another CF who’ll cost £25m upwards if he’s any good ? We’d be left with Gayle and Joselu as back up ? Makes no sense.

Personally I’d sell both of them, Gayle would fetch at least £15m from Leeds or another Championship side and Joselu might just get us £4m. With a bit of profit from Fatman’s pockets, as he continuously skims the commercial income into his tatty sports shop operation, we could stump up £25m and Mitro could be told to challenge for No 1 strike role ?

I know it aint gonna happen though.

I don’t think rafa’s handling of mitro makes sense. For whatever reason Rafa has been unable to get a proper international, ex champs. League player to work to a certain style. Instead of giving mitro more chances he gave all the time in the world to a donkey who’s only virtue ahead of mitro is to run more. He’s not better at scoring heading or holding up the play. Instead we have guys on here denigrateing the player to defend the utter scarcity of chances afforded to mitro. As I said, if we had better than mitro I wud have no issues. But Joselu is poor by any measure.
