The Sun is reporting today that Rafa Benitez wants to bring Bournemouth forward Josh King to Newcastle this summer.
King has scored 7 goals this season in 29 appearances, and he started his career at Manchester United and joined Blackburn in 2013 and then Bournemouth two years later.
He was born in Oslo, Norway to a Gambian father and a Norwegian mother and has played 31 times for Norway with 10 goals.
Josh King – 26-year-old Bournemouth forward
We were interested in Josh last summer, but the fee was said to be as much as £30M and Newcastle couldn’t afford that.
But the fee now is said to £20M, and Rafa is keen to bring another mobile forward into the Newcastle side this summer.
The Norwegian has pace and power and is reported to be a priority signing for Rafa this summer.
So we hope that Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley move quickly to put a package together for the player and make an early bid for him this summer for the 26-year-old star forward.
Rafa Benitez will need to see how much he is supported by the current owner this summer before he signs any long-term contract to stay beyond next year on Tyneside.
Signing Josh King quickly will help in that endeavor.
