Poll: Can Newcastle Get Back On Track By Beating West Brom?

Newcastle lost on Monday night and even though we had won our last four games that loss was still hard to take.

That’s especially true when the game was so close and we could (should?) have taken something out of it.

But that’s over now, and we move on.

Newcastle must have an excellent chance to get our sixth win in nine games when West Brom visit St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.

Islan Slimani – could start again on Saturday

West Brom are starting to fight and have come into some good form recently even though they are more than likely to be relegated and are currently in 20th place with 25 points and only three games to play.

Theoretically, they can go one point above Swansea and survive if they win their last three games and Swansea lose all of their last four games.

But if West Brom don’t win on Saturday, they will be relegated.

Newcastle must play better than we did last Monday night otherwise there could be an unwanted surprise on Saturday.

Here’s how things stand for Newcastle in the league table.

Picking up his taser instead of his under arm deodorant is too good for Ashley

RobLeenio, (previous) well said, we don’t want the money chasers here (do we?), we want players who want to play for the club and will bleed for us.

Can Ashley really put us through the upset of the last three windows one more time. Only time will tell.

we don’t want to pay 50 million for one player it is not what nufc are about its as you say we want an owner that will back the manager and take the club further than we have ever been and Rafa is man to do that but will Ashley back him I think not?????

Micky, don’t get me wrong, I’d love us to be able to play fantasy football.

As we can’t, it;s important Rafa gets players he can trust and this is where the club has let him down over recent windows.

Hoping for a draw sat, but expect a loss.

Since Ashley can’t win anything at the top, his goal is to “win” by staying up. Rafa did it this year & maybe next. Then the next bet for Ashley is can Rafa’s replacement keep NUFC up?

Until the FA in the UK adopt some North American rules like roster limits, salary caps and a limited draft, only the insanely rich will win. This will kill attendance & TV ratings, as no one wants to watch non-competitive games. And no one wants to watch teams that are just not any good. If the academies were gone, as well as all the “under-” teams, except for a reserves squad, the Championship and lower leagues would all have better rosters.
