Sky Sports Pundit Predicts Newcastle vs West Brom

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has been warming to Newcastle this year after we have done very well and surged to safety.

However, our four-game winning streak was halted by an ordinary looking Everton side on Monday night at Goodison Park, and that was our fifth successive league defeat against Everton.

So it is vital that we win tomorrow against the bottom of the table West Brom who will be relegated tomorrow if they don’t win this game.

Paul Merson – predicts Newcastle win

Paul has said this about the game:

“Newcastle will want to finish the season well for season ticket renewals.”

“Rafa Benitez’s squad have done well staying up.”

“I know the shackles are off West Brom, and they won at Old Trafford, but this will be a tough assignment.”

Paul predicts 2-0.

This game could prove to be difficult, but it’s the easiest game left on paper – so we have to go all out to ensure we get all 3 points.

Anything else will be a huge disappointment.

If we can win, we will have 44 points with just three games to play with the next game being at Watford.

we could have had brahimi for peanuts a few years back when we originally scouted him. how many times have we said that under ashley. for such a renowned gambler ash doesn’t often apply the ”speculate to accumulate” approach.

West Brom worry me. New manager bounce. And considering the last manager, they could bounce high…

But seriously, any thoughts on their set-up? Can we counter-attack at all or is it going to be a turgid affair as we don’t play a game that unlocks tight defences (yet).

griff, I think they’ll keep it tight, but if we can get an early goal then they’ll have to come out and play which will be far more fun.

I think it’ll be a cracking atmosphere tomorrow regardless. Just need a draw or for Saints to fail to beat Bournemouth and we’re mathematically assured of staying in the top flight. Not that I think it’s in any doubt at this point, but it’s still a landmark.

Fresh legs needed as WBA will put in plenty of running and attacking football as they really don’t have any other options especially as their players will need to proove to others whether or not they stay or go at WBA. That should create a more open game and maybe Ritchie has earned a respite on the bench until later on so Murphy to start. Atsu could be seen as well. Both putting crosses into a Slimani/Gayle combo to start. Goals being the aim.

    Season ticket renewals.

Yes, I’m sure that’s on the forefront of Rafa’s mind at the moment.

What a knobend. He definitely posts on here.

I have a theory. What if Mike Ashley has not spent any money in the last few transfer windows because he is saving it all up for the 2020 season so we can spend a billion pounds on players?? And become unstoppable?

    As Lochinvar said.
West brom have to win tomorrow or they are down. That should give us an open game.
Rafa may send us out all guns blazing as we are at home. Gayle may even start for his speed.
I’m sure Rafa will stick with Perez but I wonder about Slimani and Gayle starting.
Slimani as a no 10 rotating with Gayle?

Lol, Jib, he neglects to mention that his starting line-up was worth £150m, while ours was worth £50m and he had £50m of talent in three players not being used.

Also, Sturridge can kiss my fat one. I hope he does play so he can see what playing in front of 50k screaming Geordies would have been like had he the bottle to take the train up here as he agreed to do.

Have to say, the more I see and hear of Darren Moore, the more impressed I am. He seems genuinely chuffed to have got the West Brom opportunity and genuinely capable of making the most of it. I hope he is kept in post for the Champo and has the chance to prove himself there for a season and I also hope he manages to get them promoted at the first time of asking.

Finally, I hope he doesn’t manage to coach them to a win against us tomorrow.

Pop group ABBA have returned to the studio and recorded their first new music since the 1980s.
The Swedish quartet said the new material was an “unexpected consequence” of their recent decision to put together a “virtual reality” tour.

Perhaps they could buy NUFC so that Ashley meets his Waterloo.

Essex – Toulouse is still the winner by a mile but maybe this could be second

    You don’t think…do you ?

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta will leave the Spanish club at the end of the season.
The midfielder, 33, has made 669 appearances in 16 seasons, winning 31 trophies with Barca and three major tournaments for Spain.

You have a very simple view of life.

Most folk would recognise that Jonas
got a very good result at the tribunal.

If he had not been a cancer sufferer
NUFC would still have been looking
to offload him at 32 years 10 months.
