We will be hearing lots of players Newcastle are interested in signing this summer, and some reports may even be accurate.
The Sun on Sunday are reporting that Newcastle are keen to sign 21-year-old Croatian goalkeeper Karlo Letica.
Letica stands 6ft 7ins tall and plays for Hajduk Split and is a Croatian U21 International.
The report is that Newcastle are in the lead to sign the goalkeeper who Rafa thinks will need time before he is ready for the first team.
Karlo Latica – 21-year-old 6ft 7ins goalkeeper
The goalkeeper is ambitious and wants to play regular first-team football so that could be a problem unless Newcastle get him in and then lend him out to a club for next season to get some first-team experience.
Maybe a Championship club.
Letica is valued at £8M, and it’s a good question if Rafa will have the funds this summer to buy a player like Letica for the future.
The goalkeeper has already turned down advances from Manchester United and Real Madrid, so he is a highly rated young goalkeeper.
He has only been in the first team at Hajduk Split since December and has appeared 18 times, but he has been drawing rave reviews with his performances.
Croatian boss Zlatko Dalic is also considering taking him to the World Cup in Russia this summer.
Newcastle are likely to sign goalkeeper Martin Dubravka this summer, and we also have Rob Elliot, Karl Darlow, and England U21 International Freddie Woodman at the club.
