There’s a report in the Sun that Newcastle are interested in signing Angers’ 25-year-old striker Karl Toko Ekambi, who is a Cameroon international said to be rated at £20M.
Ekambi joined Angers two years ago from Sochaux and has since played 69 times for his club with 25 goals and 10 assists.
While at Sochaux he played 79 times with 25 goals and 3 assists.
Angers are in 14th position in Ligue 1 with Ekambi in top form this season scoring 17 goals and 5 assists in 36 appearances for his club.

But the fee being quoted seems high at £20M with the Premier League being a much higher standard and much more difficult to score goals.
Everton are also quoted to have an interest in the player.
Rafa Benitez will want to bring in two new strikers this summer with the likelihood that he will sell both Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer, and he could get as much as £35M for the two.
However, Ekambi would be a risk since he’s untested at the highest level.
But Rafa knows a good player when he sees one and if the 58-year-old Spanish manager thinks Ekambi can do a job for Newcastle – he’ll go after him.
Karl Toko Ekambi has 17 caps for Cameroon with two goals.

Comment #1This guy gets bullied off the ball at International level, so can’t see him being a good fit for the Prem.
