There’s news today coming from Russia that Newcastle are interested in signing 21-year-old Russian International central midfielder Alexander Golovin this summer.
Golovin is one of the best playmakers in Russian football and he joined CSKA Moscow in 2012 and has worked his way through the Youth Academy into the first team.
He’s played for all the Russian Youth sides and made his full International debut in June 2015 in a friendly game against Belarus at the Arena Khimki and has since played 17 times with a couple of goals.
His agent, Alexander Manyakov, has told the Russian media that Newcastle are interested in signing the player.

Alexander Manyakov has said this to Sports.Ru:
“Alexander Golovin needs to leave CSKA Moscow this summer.”
“As far as I know, there are offers from Premier League clubs but not from the top six.”
“I know that Southampton and Newcastle are showing an interest but he has a contract with CSKA.”
The Saints will remain interested only if they stay a Premier League club this summer – which is still possible.
The 21-year-old is rated at €20M according to his agent – that’s £17.6M with today’s exchange rate of 0.88.
Golovin has been playing well for his club with 41 total appearances this season in all competitions with 6 goals and 5 assists.
In total, he has played 111 times for CSKA Moscow with 12 goals and 10 assists.
He stands 5ft 11ins tall and Rafa is keen to bring in at least one new central midfielder into Newcastle this summer.
This seems a case of his agent trying to sell the player this summer – but since he’s said Golovin wants to join a Premier League club we have to be in with a decent chance – always assuming Rafa wants him.
Arsenal were said to be tracking this player late last year, and other top clubs like Barcelona are also said to be interested.
