There were not many of our players who had good games on Saturday in our 1-0 loss to West Brom, and there were just too many mistakes coming from a poor Newcastle side on the day.
But some players had decent games with Mo Diame our Man of the Match with 28% of the vote and Mohamed had another workmanlike and efficient display in the middle of the park on Saturday.
Mo’s contract runs out next year, and we hope Rafa gives him an extension since he’s shown he is more than capable of playing well in the holding midfield position in the Premier League.
Mo deserves a new contract at Newcastle.
Mo Diame – challenges Jake Livermore on Saturday
Second in line with what could be his last appearance at St. James’ Park in a black and white shirt is Kenedy with 18% of the vote.
The Chelsea player had a decent game on the left wing and then at left back, and that’s his last game at home on this loan spell.
The 22-year-old winger/full-back not eligible to play against his own club Chelsea in the final game of the season.
And third is Florian Lejeune who is ending the season strongly and was the pick of the defense on Saturday, and it looks like a good buy at around £8.7M.
A lot of our players will be much better next season after their experience in the Premier League, in what has been a tough but successful season.

Comment #1I voted Lejeune as he was Mr Consistent. Kennedy was anonymous for most of the 1st half, but did better in the 2nd half. Diame’s passes and tackles were not to his usual standard, although I was tempted to give him a vote. Lejeune was certainly the best player for the full game in my opinion.
