Kenedy – I Am Happy To Be Working At A Great Team Like Newcastle

Kenedy has had an excellent loan spell at Newcastle where he has started the last 12 games, and he has two goals and two assists.

Both goals came in the first half against Southampton at home in what at the time was a crucial relegation 6 pointer.

He hadn’t played much at all since Antonio Conte became the Chelsea manager two years ago and he was finally allowed to go on loan in January to Newcastle.

That was after Rafa had tried to get him on a season-long loan deal last summer but was not successful.

Young Robert Kenedy along with star goalkeeper Martin Dubravka have helped us survive this season in the Premier League.

And we will always be appreciative of that.

The Brazilian U23 International has more confidence now, and the four months under the guidance of Rafa Benitez has done the Brazilian youngster a world of good.

Kenedy and Rafa Benitez – during the game against Southampton

Kenedy was asked during his ESPN Brasil interview where he would be playing next season and if he thinks he has any future at Chelsea.

This is what the 22-year-old had to say:

“Well, I don’t know,”

“My contract here ends at the end of the season. Then I go back to Chelsea, and my agents will decide where to go.”

“Then the battle begins again.”

“At Chelsea there are lots of great players, so the chance was little.”

“So I was not playing in a little while. Then this opportunity came, I was very happy I could come to have continuity, to have more time to play.”

“Yes, it gives more confidence to come back and play. I had a long time without playing.”

I think I was a year and a little without playing. So I was happy to be able to play in the Premier League again.”

“I really wish we had won (at Watford), but unfortunately it wasn’t to be this time,”

“But I’m happy for the way we have ended the season and what I’ve done at Newcastle, I’m happy to be able to help the team; this squad is really good.”

“Everyone welcomed me very well. I’m happy to be working at a great team.”

Kenedy is a great example of how a loan spell can be so beneficial for a young player especially when he is under an experienced world-class manager like Mr. Benitez.

Kenedy has the potential to become a great player in the future and hopefully, that will be under the continued guidance of Rafa Benitez.

Kenedy is also a smashing lad who the Newcastle fans love to bits.

He says he will be a Newcastle fan for life after his loan spell – that sounds good.

“That dire performance last weekend could just be Rafa
showing him that the squad isn’t deep enough.”

So you seriously believe Rafa told the players: “Boys, I want to see a really lacklustre performance in the first half.”

My goodness me, that season we went down we found £80m-odd for players. Why can’t we do the same again?

the impending disaster-in-slow-motion here is too painful to watch. Rafa’s known as an astute political operator. Hope he wins. Can’t believe how lucky we are to have him.

I didn’t see Jane’s (or another of his alter ego’) post that assures us that all’s well between Ashley and Rafa.

It just goes to show that if we were all privy to such knowledge we wouldn’t be worrying.

So, knowing all’s going smoothly, we can all relax, enjoy the sun and look forward to a highly productive closed season.

    We hope
