After watching Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham come on as a sub for Swansea last night in the second half and look dangerous, it wouldn’t surprise us if Rafa tries to bring Tammy to Newcastle on a season-long loan.
Tammy did not have a good season, but Swansea were struggling against relegation, and manager Paul Clement was fired in late December and in came former Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal.
And after doing very well initially in their last seven league games, they have taken only 2 points – not a good time to have such a collapse.
Abraham has two caps for England and has class and Rafa can get the best out for him – we’re sure about that – this lad has real talent.
Tammy Abraham – will Rafa go after him again this summer?
He would be in addition to a new striker we buy outright.
Rafa will also try to get an option to buy clause in the loan contract, so Tammy’s price doesn’t rise if he does great for us.
That’s what has happened with Kenedy this year, and Rafa tried to get an option to buy for the Brazilian but wasn’t successful, and now his transfer fee could be north of £20M.
Tammy will be well aware of how brilliantly Rafa managed Kenedy this year, and if we go back a second time, Tammy should be very willing to join Rafa on Tyneside.
Choosing Swansea instead of Newcastle last summer was an obvious mistake by the youngster and his handlers, and he will be very keen to get his career quickly back on track.
Tammy still played 38 times for the Swans with 8 goals this season and 5 assists.
What do you think – should we bring in Abraham this summer?
