Report – Agreement With Benitez A Long Way Away – Rafa Unhappy

There’s a report in the MIrror today that says the Chelsea game tomorrow could be Rafa’s last game as Newcastle’s manager.

Benitez will have talks next week to try to get written assurances from Mike Ashley of various things like transfer funds.

He also wants the  OK to go ahead with overhauling the Youth Academy, and he also wants infrastructure improvements.

That’s especially true with the training ground which is out of date.

Rafa Benitez – report – talks not going well

Here’s what Rafa has said as reported in the Mirror:

“First, we are still talking. I still have a contract, that is positive. We will wait to see what we get. The question is what we can achieve.”

“This club has to be in the top 10. How? We have to do a lot of things right and to start making the right decisions now.”

“In England, you can see that if you have an idea and the idea is right and you have the support, you can carry on improving.”

“You can have a project — a proper project, not just for the Press, a proper project, working every day.”

“We did that at Liverpool in the time I was there.”

“People say ‘Wheel and deal’ and sometimes you have to do it because, if not, you don’t have any money.”

“People say ‘Wheel and deal’ and sometimes you have to do it because, if not, you don’t have any money.”

The MIrror is reporting that an agreement is a long way away.

Rafa wants a full business plan put in place for the club including transfer funds identified, and he wants to be able to negotiate the transfers with Lee Charnley.

He also wants to be free to spend the transfer funds in the way he sees fit without any interference from the hierarchy and wants written guarantees on everything that’s agreed.

We don’t think Rafa’s final game will be tomorrow because he will see out the final year of his contract and hope a new owner can come in before next summer.

But it does look like Mike Ashley could screw this up – which was always a possibility.

Whoa whoa whoa…hang on! What’s all this about our training facilities being the worst in the league? That’s a bit harsh isn’t it?

Those site offices cost the neck end of £6k – more if you want hot water and showers. And those large wheelie bins are easily £200 each! Then you have to buy an ice making fridge….generator for electricity….paper and pens…blackboard…hmmm..ermmm….that comes to….ummmm…..

£8,467.82! These papers haven’t a clue have they?

You have to wheel and deal an awful lot to sell the colbacks, mbembas etc and buy top flight replacements. It doesn’t work like that Michael. At some point you have to consider not sideloading all the money attracted by the brand that is nufc into your wallet and do a bit of investing to keep the club viable in the premier league, never mind competing at the top of it. You can’t just tread water in a moving river.

Hmm I appreciate that the mood music is a bit so so but if there is anything negative around the place, Simon Bird is usually nearby.

Here we go AGAIN ! Same old shit ! Fat lad grabs the money and doesn’t want to spend anything. No doubt more false promises on the way !
HEY FATMAN ! GREEDY COCK-ney whatever name fits you today. You have just been proclaimed as the richest man in the North East. Spend some money on a fantastic cause which will definitely give you good returns both financially and personally. NUFC and Rafa ! This bloke is gonna walk away! All he wants to do is give NUFC his magic touch and put us where we deserve to be. You are gonna push him over the edge. He has stood by you and the club for the last 2 years and got on with what he had available and produced the best possible position. Give him some money and guarantees so he can move forward in a big way. OR SELL THE CLUB and spend the rest of your days counting your money and then realising how much more you could have had if only you had invested in NUFC. Do something QUICK !

Simon Bird must love working in the North East
where the majority of his readership are so gullible

The Mirror. Not worth bog paper. What “insight” do they actually have? None. Total rubbish and sh*t stirring by them. Who knows the real situation? – nobody outside the inner group at the moment.

Whether the article in the Mirror is total pants or not it does,nt alter the fact that the so called talks are,nt going the way Rafa was hoping. How long does it take to establish how much transfer funds he will have ffs. Once the season has finished and players are targeted by other clubs, Lascelles for instance,, Benitez will be encouraged to sell to generate more funds to add to the pittance Ashley will throw in. Same old story every season and next season wont be any different. I think Rafa will leave, simples.

New target for the day am I ?
Jail, AND ? Did you hear Rafa say that ? Or is it just more media bullshit ?

Jib, Is MY OPINION Wrong ?

What did I say that was so wrong ? I just typed what was on my mind after reading the above article. I didn’t bite. That’s what this forum is for, Is it not ?
Most of the arses on here can’t even stick to the article in hand.
My Opinion , If you don’t agree or like then, Fine, But one or two have agreed so it can’t be that wrong as you state.
