Newcastle In For New 26-Year-Old £25M Transfer Target

A source in Sports Entertainment Group today is reporting that Newcastle are interested in one of Spartak Moscow’s top stars, Dutchman Quincy Promes.

Promes has played 25 times with 4 goals for the Netherlands, and he is a winger born in Amsterdam.

He has played for Spartak Moscow since back in 2014, and two other clubs are said to be interested in the player – Roma and Tottenham.

All three clubs are reported to have already made contact with Spartak Moscow about the Dutch international.

He’s valued at around £25M, but if Rafa is to bring in some class to Newcastle this summer, then Newcastle have to be prepared to pay the going price for top players.

Promes was the top scorer in the Russian Premier League this season with 15 goals and 8 assists.

In all competitions this season he’s scored 21 goals and 10 assists in 38 appearances.

Spartak Moscow finished 3rd in the Russian Premier League behind winners Lokomotiv Moscow and CSKA Moscow and did not get a direct entry into the group stage of the Champions League.

They are expected to have a clearout, and it seems that Quincy Promes will be one of the players allowed to leave the club, probably because they can get decent money for him.

Newcastle will be looking to bring in  who can score goals and Promes appears to be a decent target.

Liverpool were after Promes last summer, but nothing came of it.

We have to get this lad.
There’ll be no other PL team next season able to boast of a player with a name like ‘Quincy Promes’. It’s an absolute classic.

gotta be wary of players from the russian leagues.. its quite easy to look like a good player if you play for one of the better side… even McGeady looked a player there for a bit…
These Garry Rodrigues links are persistant too… not sure how Gala could hope for 20m for him though, surely agent over inflating that..
Definately forsee huge changes.. Can see us selling/releasing Mbemba, Mitro, Gamez, Haidara, Colback, Sels for a start, could also see us letting go some surprising ones like Gayle, Clark, Hayden, Darlow if the money is right, all 4 should be targets for any club looking to get promoted.. similarly I think Merino looks like hes off. Could see Rafa raising upto 60m in player sales, no one has done their value any harm with the 2018 form…

wonder if finishing 10th will help in persuading players to join? 10th sounds like a base to push on for, very positive, whereas 15th/16th could have sounded quite negative when approaching foreign players. Unbelievable achievement though regardless..Godknows what Mo Diame has been on since christmas, but hes just been unbelievable! Similarly Ritchie was woeful in oct/nov./dec but seems a different player since he got that goal against man utd.
Think Murphy gets a bit of unfair stick, hes adapting very slowly but you can see there are some attributes there.
Not mentioning Shelvey or Lascelles because it goes without saying, but actually LeJeune has been excellent too…
Think in the summer if we can get a number 9, a number 10, a left winger and an attacking left back we’ll have the basis for a really decent side with rafa at the helm.

Just watched him for last season on YouTube, now all season we have been saying we need a number ten, well I know its the Russian league but if this guy can do what he does there for us, Houston we have lift off and now have a number ten. So number ten in, one proven striker in, cover for midfielder, right back, and cover for central defense. Shit, if we get Kenedy down one wing, and maybe push Gayle or Perez playing on the right wing instead of up front, with this kid at number ten with a proven striker and shelves and diame in midfield, I would say teams will be very scared of the pace Newcastle have in attack. That could give us something that we have not had in so long, five moving attackering players that can all score goals, with Shelves putting in a few from midfield and of course Diame sitting and saying boo to players when he steals the ball from them.

NTG this lad does look the business! not sure if he is more of a winger/wide forward rather then a number 10 but think he could do very well in the number 10 position. if rafa stays a few good players like this come in then we could be knocking on the door of the big boys
