Official Premier League Payments – Newcastle Get Mammoth 8th Highest Payout

As expected today the Premier League have released their final figures for season 2017-218.

And with Newcastle finishing 10th we got £123,018.207 – just over £123M – which is close to what we expected.

That was the 8th highest payout in the Premier League and credit to Rafa Benitez and our players for that.

Newcastle were shown live 19 times on local TV and we received just over £21M for that in facility fees.

Rafa Benitez – seems happy enough

We got only £26M less than the two Manchester clubs – which is not too bad.

West Ham got just over £116M – Rafa please note.

Here are the final payouts from the Premier League for the season just finished.

If Mike Ashley gave Rafa half of that and with the incoming transfer fees he could get (about £40M) Rafa would have£100M to spend in the summer.

What wrong with that?

It will be increasingly difficult for Ashley to say Newcastle lack money now.

We earned £47M last year from the leagues (£7M Championship plus £40M parachute payment. from PL) so that’s £76M more than last year.

Again well done Rafa and our players!

Comments welcome.

£100M to spend? In our dreams. If the fat boy sanctions that kind of cash, I’ll be amazed. Happy, but amazed.

And Rafa’s reward will be what, Mike Ashley?

So the last time we were in the premier league we got £73m and mclaren spent about £70m net. I think it was about £50m then another £20m on shelvey and Townsend when it looked like we might get relegated.

This time we’ve got an extra £50m. I don’t know what the wage bill is but let’s assume it’s a bit higher maybe £10m (just for arguments sake). We may still owe a bit from dropping out of the league maybe £30m (just a guess). So there’s no reason that the budget can’t be about £50-£80m plus player sales.

Waking up in his hotel bed with a horses head on the pillow is too good for Ashley.

The prats on Talksport “Drive time” are already talking as if Rafa is going to WH. Discussing with callers what they’d like him to do, the players he’ll bring in etc.Makes me sick how the media accept that if a London club want what Newcastle have, players, manager etc they can just go get them. Bazzers!!

120 million? We’ll never get rid of the barrow boy now. Mind, had he sold to Staveley at Xmas with guarantees, he’d have been a mug, which he’s clearly not. She wanted her cake and to eat it.

Rafa will definitely leave. Wh are desperate for success. Newcastle under Ashley do not have the hunger or desperation for success.

Cold hard truths. Rafa is a goner.
