Alan Shearer Amazed If Rafa Leaves Newcastle For West Ham

Alan Shearer is a massive admirer of Rafa Benitez and has come out today and said he would be surprised if the Spanish manager left Newcastle for West Ham.

Rafa points to the fact that as far as the two owners of the clubs are concerned – there’s not too much difference between them.

We have Mike Ashley at Newcastle, and West Ham have David Gold, and David Sullivan and both owners are currently in the bad books with their fans.

Alan Shearer – why would Rafa go to West Ham?

This is what Alan has said in his piece for  bookmaker Coral :

“I would be amazed if he was to leave Newcastle and go to West Ham.”

“It would be like out of the frying pan and into the fire in regards to owners.”

“But it would be a really big surprise if he was to leave Newcastle for West Ham.”

“It might not be a surprise if he was to go elsewhere.”

“Whether Arsenal or anyone else would come in for Rafa then that would have to be looked at.”

“And it will all depend on whether Mike Ashley is going to back him financially in the transfer market.”

“But Newcastle have had an excellent season so it’s no surprise that his name is being talked about with other clubs.”

When Rafa almost signed for West Ham back in June 2015, he was happy with the treatment he received specifically from David Sullivan, and he praised the professionalism of the owners.

He has never said that (yet?) about Mike Ashley.

What do you think?

I really don’t expect Rafa to go to Wet Spam. BUT the fact that he is clearly unsettled here might just bring in an approach from another foreign club.

If as it has been rumoured, Rafa’s lawyers believe that he has strong case for wrongful dismissal, Rafa could walk and Mr Ashley would be left whistling for his £6m buy out clause.

What price the Toon then, eh? Certainly not £400m. or £300m, perhaps a figure of around £200m. We have to factor in that there would be no guarantee of PL football in 2019.

    Over to you, Mr Ashley.

We spent 112M pounds on wages in our Champo season? That is unbelievable. How could that be the case. The squad wasn’t that good at all! What did we pay players like Gayle and Mitro? And I know we paid out some bonuses for getting promoted stragight away. It all lead to a 41M pound loss after taxes. And now our debt to Ashley stands at 144M! This can’t go on. Surely he must begin to pay himself back?

At least their debt has been wiped out. Allegedly.

Just wondering who will pick up the parachute payments for the Dark Place. My own feeling is that Mr Shortofcash used it to pay of those debts not owed to him personally.

Last I want speak of that place on this blog!

This is horrible! Waiting to hear that Ashley mucks up the whole thing and Rafa walks. It’s terrible to hear that we owe Mr. Thickee even more money….
