Positive Signs Newcastle Moving Aggressively For Top Transfer Targets – West Ham To Hire Pellegrini

There’s a report in the Express today that Newcastle are starting to feel confident that Rafa Benitez will stay on Tyneside.

And some of that confidence is reflected in Newcastle reportedly moving after several of their targets.

The Chronicle are reporting today that Newcastle are moving aggressively for Benitez’s top priority transfer targets of the summer.

Rafa Benitez – getting involved in the transfer market

26-year-old Hoffenheim forward Andrej Kramaric is one player who has been identified as a possible target and Rafa also seems interested in also getting his former Liverpool striker – Fernando Torres – to Newcastle this summer.

That will likely depend on what the Spanish striker wants to do with his career.

And there has still been no formal approach for Rafa Benitez from West Ham, and it seems their number one target is former Manchester City manager – Manuel Pellegrini.

And the Express are reporting in the last hour the 64-year-old Chilean has agreed to a three-year deal with the announcement coming in the next couple of days.

The report is that he had a chance to move to Sevilla but that he wanted to return to the Premier League.

So it looks like West Ham now have an excellent experienced manager,  who will be able to get the best out of the players they already have.

And we still have Rafa Benitez.

🙂

Both West Ham and NUFC have an excuse
West Ham don’t have a manager
    NUFC had John Carver

Not wishing to spoil the positivity, but SKy Sports are saying that Pellegrini is on his way to have talks on Monday and that they are talking to RAFA over the weekend!! – this is probably more BS, but as SSN are usually MA’s mouthpiece, it does seem a bit unusual. Of course they could be just hedging their journalistic bets so whatever the outcome, they can claim they “called it”!!

I hate all the Summer BS that we have to put up with every bloody year. I think I’ll start to hibernate over the Summer and only come back out when the Season starts and everything is resolved, good night all.?

Are these Rafa’s targets or are these targets that are influenced by Ashley’s transfer budget..

    Reilly,

He was released on the same phone call as Taylor if I remember correctly. Still a shocking move though, he deserved better than that. Big Jonas galloping down the wing at 3 strides per Minute.

As I have said before no need to get excited or worried about all these links or whether they are in Ashley’s price range or whether Charnley will miss out etc…. they are paper talk and by far the majority never materialise. Look on NUFC.com at their monthly rumours section over the years to see the truth of it.

How many links has ED put up today – I don’t blame him it’s his site and he is simply reporting the guff but we don’t have to get wound up over each and everyone. This is just the start of the summer rumour mill 🙁

Mind a relief from the Rafa to West Ham panic 🙂

You don’t have to put up with any summer BS. Sky are just baiting you and you’re taking their complete fabrications as more substantial than they are, they have to run something and know NUFC fans are easy to wind-up and so they run with it.

    Go outside.

    Rafa will stay.

Pellegrini to West Ham is great, but all this has done is to deflect away from Rafa getting signing a new deal and actually being able to make some proper signings for once!

I expect to see an announcement next week and we can breathe easy.

    Here’s a thought.

Say no extension to Rafa’s contract is achieved.

He just decides to see his contract out until June 2019.

    but

    We qualify for Europe !

That’ll really put Ashley twixt a rock and a hard place this time next year

that Jones should be sent off ?
Does the dopey Italian not realise that he is
probably going to give Chelsea a couple more penalties ?
Jones an England international over Lascelles

It’s only a red card for the defender if:
    1. The attacker is through 1 on 1 with the goalie
    2. Defender brings them down when it’s a clear goal scoring chance
    3. Defender does not play for Man U

Remember the Coloccini red card against Sunderland? If that had been any other club…red card.

This game reminds everyone of the importance of a manager like Rafa who can get a maximum effort out of a team. Conte couldnt for the majority of the season and certainly not against us but now they play for themselves to win a trophy. Hope chelsea lose just for that reason

Some interesting stats on the NUFC site about minutes played by various players.

Lascelles had the most (2928), Haidara the least (3) and Slimani had a grand total of 140.
