Here’s another video from NUFC comps as they have updated their Rafa revolution composite to include this past season when we finished 10th in the Premier League.
Wonder if Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley have any plans to get Rafa signed up quickly to an extended contract – since the transfer window officially opened last Thursday.
There’s very little news about what’s going on in the talks between Rafa’s reps and Lee Charnley.
Why do Newcastle always get bogged down when they enter negotiations?

Comment #83Tsunki@77………. That probably just about sums it up. There are those that say if the product isn’t up to scratch then don’t buy it but to many others NUFC is not a product it’s a deep rooted passion and a way of life.
As a human being which is a separate issue to making money Ashley could show a lot more empathy and at least pretend that he cares .

Comment #84Roman gave Chelsea similar loans throughout his tenure. They currently owe him roughly one billion smackers.
An unlikely – but delicious – scenario would be Roman calling the debt in and Chelsea finding themselves in the Conference League – or whatever it gets called next season.
Unlikely I know, but can you imagine it? 🙂 Roman spits his dummy out and demands the money returned. Chelsea would be lucky if they did survive to play in none league football. That’s a serious debt.

Whilst I don’t disagree on the moral dimension I can’t see any point in trying to nail Ashley about it on here. It is a sterile debate as he doesn’t factor in what we think to how he works.
I don’t believe ( as I have often said) that he sets out deliberately to hurt fans as a prime motive in his dealings but nor does he work on the basis of what do we want so I will go there – unless of course there is a profit to be had and that is the prime objective with us secondary.
After 11 years he has done more harm than good ( and no I don’t want to get into pointless debates as to what good he may or may not have done) and I honestly can’t see any point in experienced bloggers getting bogged down in it as there is nothing new to bring to table. New Bloggers I can fully understand coming on and venting their spleen but those who have already done the subject to death but find a different weay to say more of the same I just don’t get 🙁

Comment #87Magscar to be fair – and we are all guilty of this – there is the feeling that if you just rephrase your opinion it might just get a bit more recognition and understanding.

IMO we are still a good buy at £400Mill thank’s to Rafa, providing the purchaser doesn’t have to cross a mine field to put pen to paper.

Comment #90Ashley’s not a fan. He won’t even begin to think like one and couldn’t care less about us. That’s the long and short of it.
I would’ve thought there should be rules about competition in the PL – and the fact that you have to actually compete. It may be a business, but first and foremost it’s a sporting club.
I have no problem at all with an owner making money from his business venture, as long as he speculates to accumulate – like SJH did.
So although he may have took a big chunk out, he had every right to do so. We were doing a Sunlun before he literally came to our rescue and look what he did to the club and the ground.
Ashley’s got a lot of catching up to do before he gets close!
The club can wipe it’s nose and he can still make money in the long run.
He would be well advised to give Rafa three years to prove to him it can be done. It’s win win then.

Comment #91On the relationship between Ashley and the fans, the “paying public” – there’s a great degree of conditioning. You can see the stark difference in expectation with fans of arsenal, Liverpool, man united, Chelsea and of course lately man city – all hell breaks loose at the hint of not winning a title or a cup;finishing outside the top five being a catastrophic failure – and us, a one – club city with a huge loyal fan base and resignation that relegation is an even – odds feature of existence. He’s done very well to condition us to not demand much more.

Comment #95Magscar……….. Aye harsh but true. No point dreaming that Ashley might handle things in any way other than what suits him. It just makes me become reflective at the end of a season where we finished in such a good position with little or no help from the owner and pondering what might have been.
Still such is life , it’s not what it was, it’s what it might be now so positive support for Rafa and the lads required.

Thanks for the tip (seriously) but I am not sure how I could ” rephrase” as you delicately put it. I have been accused of being “preachy” OK I can see that may apply at times but often I am responding to what I have been reading not neccesarily just one particular post but usually several and their tone. I have a good sense of humour ( including being self depricating) but am often so brought down on here that I can’t express myself that way.
I having been typing today in between having 2 different sets of company and as usual type as i think with little time for editing ( mine are often long anyway). There are many posters who I also feel could “rephrase” or just find something new to say but I can’t believe they would listen or care what my take was.
As I believe most on here are fans – of different era’s and ages , some able to get to games some not. some agressive some more inclusive but all with an opinion to share with others all should be welcome.
Another benefit of Ashley going would be to release the Blog from the interminable chat and arguement about him and his tenure. The irony might be it would ruin the Blog for ED 😉

Comment #100Tsunki, tbf we became conditioned to not winning long before Ashley showed his horrible mug up here. We’ve won no domestic competition in either of our lifetime’s.
We are what we are. Supporting Newcastle is an extension of North East pride.
That’s why I’ve never understood cockneys. If London really is so great, why do half of them support Liverpool, Manure, etc? Weird. 🙂

I remember when Keegan was backed by Sir John Hall in the 90s . We made an inquiry about the availability of the ” THE BEAST OF BARCELONA” Miguel Nadal centre back in 1994, Barcelona refused NUFC access, Nadal was furious that he was not allowed to talk to NUFC regarding a possible transfer, that was the pulling power NUFC had in Europe, at around the same time,Man City were relegated from the Prem , the following season City were relegated to league 1.Look at City now, look at their comeback, look at NUFC now , we can come back too just back Rafa, we shouldn’t settle for second best.
