Skipper Blown Away – It Would Be Crazy If We Can Do This For The Fans

Jamaal Lascelles has proven to be an excellent Newcastle captain, and he gets on very well with his manager Rafa Benitez.

They share similar character traits – they are both extremely hardworking and dedicated to Newcastle United.

Jamaal also has a great relationship with the Newcastle fans because not only does he give 100% every single game, but he demands that other players do the same.

Jamaal has also shown what a good Premier League defender he is and seems to be improving all the time under the guidance of the Newcastle manager.

Jamal has been blown away by the magnificent Newcastle fans this last season, and he says what would they be like if we actually won something for the first time in 50 years!

Rafa Benitez with captain Jamaal Lascelles

This is some of what the captain has said in the Chronicle today:

“We finished the season on a high and it was a really great way to end.”

“We have such a huge stadium that’s full every week and to see the fans reacting like that for finishing 10th makes you wonder what will happen if we can achieve even more for them.”

“I couldn’t imagine how crazy it would be if we challenged for a trophy or won something if that’s a small taste of making the top half.”

“It would be unreal probably.” “These fans are incredible though.”

“Even the games we lost or the ones we played rubbish they still had it in them to clap us off after cheering for the full game.”

“It means so much to them you see and we don’t want to let them down.” “That’s why we went around the pitch.”

“The gave us their all and we want to do the same for them.”

If Rafa can get say £90M to spend which is money up front (£50M) from Mike Ashley plus any funds he can get by selling players then he could improve the quality of the Newcastle significantly for next season.

The players he can sell include Chancel Mbemba, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Jack Colback, Dwight Gayle, Achraf Lazaar, and Matz Sels.

And who knows maybe we can win the FA Cup or League Cup next season.

It’s possible

There are some angry people around re the Rafa contract situation. We don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes – it could be that the contract is agreed in principle and is just waiting for signing by the owner or Rafa or both. It could be that Rafa has been given assurances and is waiting to see if they play our before he signs. It could be that the parties are still a million miles apart but still talking. One thing is for sure is that neither party has yet walked away from the negotiations, which would be the trigger for justified anger. Until that point, we need to get some perspective and calm down a little.

    On this,
Captain, we’ve lowered expectations, hence the thrill of being safe and finishing 10th. More of the Chelsea game next year, please.
    On thauvin, Ed,
Would have been even more shrewd if we’d held onto him after a couple missed dribbles 🙂
Looking forward to some exciting transfers. There must be a young Hazard, somewhere 😉 And an Aguero type CF. Not too much to ask for.

Cyprus…or if we had been just a little clever and added a clause to the Thauvin deal that would had insured we would be paid big bucks should Marseilles cash in on him…

…we tend to give players away that fail to shine or wants to move on..

Even a buy back clause for the amount they paid for him plus say 10%, that is what big clubs do with those that have potential

Rafa has done his job, Ashley want’s rid, If Rafa can’t achieve his long term vision for the club he will be gone before the start of next season He doesn’t need this shit, £6Mill to buy out Rafa’s contract is peanuts, can’t see him staying and just treading water for 1 season. Lets all hope a buyer makes a move for the club, and quick.
