One Of Newcastle’s Busiest Ever Transfer Windows Coming Up

The Chronicle is reporting today that this could be one of Newcastle’s busiest ever transfer windows ever as manager Rafa Benitez along with Lee Charnley will have to move out many players to reduce the wage bill for new players arriving.

There are a number of players Newcastle will have to move out and the report is that Rafa and Lee are working together on a transfer plan in and out which will keep the wage bill reasonable at Newcastle.

It was reported last week that our wage bill in the Championship was a whopping 112M and maybe they will try to peg it at about that amount this summer.

Players who can leave the club this summer include the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Chancel Mbemba, Dwight Gayle, Matz Sels, Jack Colback, Henri Saivet and Adam Armstrong.

Chancel Mbemba – one player who will leave this summer

The significant fees would come from selling Mitrovic, Mbemba, and Gayle.

Newcastle brought in both Mitrovic and Mbemba three years ago from Anderlecht before our relegation season.

If Fulham are promoted on Saturday manager Slavisa Jokanovic has said he is interested in buying both Mitrovic and Gayle from Newcastle.

The Fulham – Aston Villa playoff final is on Saturday before the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Two games we expect Rafa Benitez to be watching.

Apparently, Newcastle are looking at players coming in who have wages around £100K/week which is one reason we have to have a massive clearout at the club.

Glad to see WestSpam have got Pellegrini….they are welcome, also around the earlier thread of discussion around assists. Why don’t they have a stats category of Impact Player”

Advice for Ashley and Klingons, Let Rafa pull the strings as he knows what he is doing when it comes to selling and buying players.

Talking about academy players a year or so ago a youngster from Newcastle Benfield was picked up by stoke for thier youth setup. Something is wrong if stoke scouts are picking up players that are under your nose.

I’d be more interested in the likes of colback lazar and sels seeing the exit door as I don’t feel they could even do a job. There’s also Toney sterry and saivet. Who are all probably not good enough. I can see why the talk is about selling the better ones as they’ll generate cash but it will weaken the squad losing some of the mid level players. Even if they are more valuable or in greater demand.

I said previously I think rafa will be ruthless if given his way. He can generate good funds on top of any budget to build the 22 premier league ready players he wants. That doesn’t mean already played in the premier league but experienced and or talented enough with the right character to make it. I can see a huge number of our going players with about 11 or 12 incoming if he does what I expect him too. I’m hoping that we have lots lined up quickly. Make offers of our max price and if not successful move on.

I can only imagine how successful rafa could be under that scenario. I genuinely believe he can create a very special squad given enough control to deliver it. The key to all that will be outgoings leaving quickly as well.

I’d build on a first xi spine of lascelles, Lejeune, dummett, shelvey, Diame, Ritchie and Perez with Dubravka and Kenedy to start with. That doesn’t mean some of those would start. Make the competition for places much higher.

2 strikers, a number 10, a winger, competition for shelvey and Diame, a right back, competition at centre back and left back with 2 great keepers. That’s 11 in. Hope it happens
