When Robert Kenedy came to Newcastle on loan in January, we didn’t know what to expect from a player who had hardly played for the Chelsea first team.
But Rafa was keen on this lad last summer, and we soon realized why – when the 22-year-old Brazilian started to show some great skill, speed, and trickery on the left wing.
He was a revelation for Newcastle this year along with goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.
With these two men in the Newcastle squad for next season from the start, we will be a much better team – whoever else Rafa is able to sign this summer.
Kenedy – congratulated by “father-figure” Rafa Benitez
It looks like we can sign Dubravka for £4M but it’s going to take as much as £20M to sign Kenedy, and a report in GOAL says Newcastle cannot afford that.
Lee Charnley should look at just how much fans love Kenedy.
He would be an excellent buy for the Magpies, and he has already delivered on Tyneside over 12 games – he also loves the club.
He’s worth £20M in today’s transfer market of any anybody’s money.
That includes Newcastle – let’s show some real ambition and drive in this summer’s transfer window – although Charnely to be fair is controlled by Mike Ashley – financially.
It would be good if Ashley was either fully involved at the club or else let Charnley and Rafa get on with it and give them transfer money and let Rafa spend it as he wishes.
We’d prefer the latter and Ashley can attend the games and enjoy some wins.
What’s wrong with that?

I’m praying this world cup is gonna be a world cup of amazing winger play. Anything to distract the major clubs from Kenedy. Hopefully they’ll forget about him and we can move in for him #nufc

If Newcastle don’t sign Kenedy it will be one of the biggest mistakes ever made. He has the potential to be a star and could be worth 4x more than what Newcastle would purchased him for #NUFC

I’m hearing with the rumoured £24m at #NUFC are looking to bring Dubravka and Kenedy in with that money, then offload Mbemba, to sign a fullback and offload mitrovic to sign a striker..plus other outcomings and incomings

My #NUFC transfer wish list:
These are players which obviously we might not sign but players which i would personally like to see us sign.

His thesis project looks at Premier League fans’ team identification – how well they support and identify with their team.
Jack has put together a relatively short questionnaire of team identification and satisfaction with life; it should take no longer than 10 minutes.
