Rafa Benitez Trying Very Hard To Get Brazilian Back To Newcastle

Rafa Benitez has signed one of his top targets for the summer when Martin Dubravka joined us yesterday for a bargain price of only £4M on a four-year deal.

But if Rafa can now somehow get Robert Kenedy into the club – either permanently (preferred) or even on loan – that would make two excellent signings for us this summer.

The Chronicle is reporting that Rafa Benitez has assured the Brazilian he will get first team football if he does join Newcastle.

And that’s something he may not get at other top clubs who are after him – including Arsenal, PSG, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich.

He could find himself in the same situation he has endured at Chelsea, with very little first-team football.

Kenedy is currently relaxing on his summer vacation and will no doubt want to understand what the situation is with Newcastle when he returns.

Kenedy with Rafa Benitez – against Southampton at home

Any move for Kenedy could become complicated with Chelsea likely to replace current manager Antonio Conte.

If Conte stays, after all, he did win the FA Cup in May – that could increase the chances that Kenedy will be allowed to leave the Blues – and hopefully, move to Newcastle.

Rafa may want to get Kennedy on loan for the season – but this time with an option to buy him next summer.

That would mean an agreed transfer fee as part of the loan contract.

Rafa tried for the same thing last summer and in January too, but couldn’t get the option to buy in the contract.

This is what Benitez said about the Kenedy situation earlier this month:

“Chelsea may see him as an option for the boy to go on loan for another year.”

“Where could a good place for him be? Newcastle.”

“And for sure that could be a good chance for him and us.”

The other thing in our favor is the 23-year-old settled quickly on Tyneside and loved playing under Rafa Benitez, whom he says is like a father-figure to him.

Kenedy knows how much he improved under Benitez in a short four months.

A season on loan at Newcastle could see him become a top player by next summer.

The Chronicle is reporting that Rafa is trying hard to bring Kenedy back to Newcastle.

If the winger costs £20M – he would be worth it in the long haul.

He’s an exciting player to watch, and Newcastle fans love the youngster.

Think we are missing a trick not even going for Milan badelj on a free from fiorentina. An underrated midfielder.

With Pochettino being an ex-Espanol player and manager, he hates Barcelona (the team, not the city, obviously) so who better to manage than Real Madrid to get one over Barca? He’d be even more adored at Espanol if he can do the double over Barca next season and prevent them from winning the league.

Badelj was linked with Milan and Spurs in the January transfer window, so they could be back in for him, along with a few other ‘bigger’ clubs than us. Still, no harm in trying to lure him to the Toon, right? Shy bairns get nowt!

Agree, should at least offer him something, he can only say no. Tottenham have been linked with him for years and juventus are considering moving but the only serious offers for him currently are fiorentina and ac/ inter Milan. He’s reported as wanting to stay at fiorentina but they can’t agree on wages.

Think he would add genuine competition with diam, shelvey and merino and tbh I think he can be an improvement on them.

I’d love to see Kenedy back at the club either on another loan or permanently, but I think his performances have alerted other clubs now he’s shown himself capable of playing well on a regular basis. He might also sit tight at Chelsea to see if their next manager will give him a chance to shine at Stamford Bridge.

Ah well looks like we missed out on Fredericks as he signed by West Ham, couldn’t see him leaving London area, can’t see the attraction myself, northeast is much more vibrant, and the fans are better.

How about Sam Byram from West Ham for RB if they are getting Fredericks

Ancient C, read my comments fully before nitpicking. I won’t be waiting for any errors, and am delighted we got a decent keep for peanuts. If you look at the arsenal game for example, for their goal he was practically not between the sticks. But that’s observation not big criticism. I’m delighted we have him after a good period for Rafa to observe him.

Ruddy, you were the one who slammed Perez. I praised him when it wasn’t popular to do so. Guess whose football analysis of Perez that Rafa agreed with, incidentally? Not you, tool.
