Report – Newcastle In Serious Bid To Sign In-Demand 22-Year-Old Center-Back For £8M

There’s a report in Football Ghana that Newcastle United are well positioned and have made significant progress in their attempts to sign Ghana defender Kasim Nuhu for £8M.

The 22-year-old plays at center-back and stands 6ft 3ins tall and Rafa will be bringing in a central defender in this summer to replace Chancel Mbemba who is almost certain to leave the club after three years on Tyneside.

Nuhu has had an excellent season at the Swiss side Young Boys, whom Kevin Mbabu joined last summer and has also had a good season back home in Switzerland.

22-year-old Young Boys’ defender Kasim Nuhu

Nuhu’s form this season has attracted a number of top European clubs and Newcastle is said to be one of them.

The agents of the twice-capped Nigerian International have already started negotiations with Young Boys over a potential transfer of the player in the summer.

The report is that Newcastle are a club high on their agenda of potential destinations for their player.

Newcastle had representatives watching the Young Boys’ Champions League qualifying match against CSKA Moscow recently, and the Magpies are now considering a move for the youngster.

However, there will be plenty of competition for Newcastle both Tottenham and Huddersfield also interested in signing the star youngster.

But it does look as though Newcastle have made the most progress towards signing the Ghanaian International.

Last season Nuhu played 45 times for Young Boys with 3 goals and 2 assists.

Last October he scored on his International debut for Ghana against Saudi Arabia and Newcastle were first linked with this player last August.

Comments welcome.

Friendly with Porto, nice. I will be going. Now need to change my tickets for an earlier flight to Portugal and see how to get tickets to the game.
For anyone thinking of going I was there last year for their celebrations (season opening friendly), it will be sold out. Unlike preseason friendlies in England this is a pretty big thing down there.

Thanks for the advice, I was thinking about Porto as well, fly direct to Lisbon, a couple of days there (love Lisbon), train to Porto, weekend there, train back to Lisbon, direct back to DXB. £500 flights (£1,300 in business). Beat the stifiling heat of Dubai for a week.

Problem I have, is where do i get a pair of tickets as I’ve not bought any in years?

Just read a thread from a Sunderland fan who has asked for the hatred to be less or dropped between us Geordies and the makems at derby matches. Well first you’re gonna have to wait a few years before that could ever happen again !
How come every time they make it look like it’s our doing and or fault ?
Remember not so long ago they were complaining about us Geordies wanting to help with their economy when relegated to the THIRD division, Just cos we wanted to celebrate in style at their ground wasn’t such a bad thing was it ?
They celebrated when we were thrust into the championship, I couldn’t even listen to a radio show without one of them numpties coming on a shouting the odds and taking the p==s out of us !
Then there was the banners that were flown across SJP on match days ( TWICE ) taking the p==s again !
Then because they are relegated down to the THIRD tier of football and possibly soon to be FOURTH division now they want to be our friends !
BOLLOCKS ! NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS ! BACK STABBING BA==ARDS
