Surprise – Newcastle Want 26-Year-Old England Central Midfielder

The Chronicle is reporting today the transfer plans at Newcastle are moving along nicely even though the Newcastle hierarchy continue to show they can do nothing fast and sign up a world-class manager to an extended stay on Tyneside.

The good news is that things are getting done and Rafa is engaged fully in trying to improve his squad with maybe £50M transfer funds he will get this summer to spend on new players.

The Star is reporting that Newcastle are keen to sign Jack Wilshere on a free transfer this summer.

Jack Wilshire – Newcastle said to be keen to sign him as a free agent

It’s difficult to know if Rafa rates Wilshire, who has lots of skill but is injured a lot of the time each season.

West Ham are reported in the driver’s seat for the 34 times capped England International who missed out on a place in England’s World Cup squad this summer.

Everton, Crystal Palace, and Newcastle are mentioned as three other clubs interested in signing Wilshire.

But we would be very surprised if the 26-year-old ends up at Newcastle.

Arsenal’s new head coach Unai Emery will be the one who decides if Jack can leave the Emirates this summer on a free transfer.

But Jack wants first team football wherever he ends up so he could become a free agent in the summer and will no doubt attract some  PL clubs and maybe some top clubs from the continent.

Somehow we cannot see Jack Wilshire at Newcastle although Rafa has surprised us before with the players he can bring into the club.

Jack was born in Stevenage and joined Arsenal from Luton Town 17 years ago.

What do you think?

If it’s from The Star, it must be true.

Wilshere playing in the number 10 role for us would be good especially on a free transfer. He’s a better player than Ayoze Perez. That would be one problem position sorted for now. Then we could focus on our ST search and bring in Promes for the wing and Kenedy on loan with option to buy.

Not interested. Overrated. Injury prone. Premadona

I beg to differ with Ed on this one. Emery won’t be the one to decide if Jack leaves Arsenal. I think Jack himself makes that decision, doesn’t he?

Jorgensen sounds a bit like what Joselu would be like if he could finish. We should offer a loan with view to buy just to be safe. Wasting £20m would set us back.

Rumours floating around in Turkey that we’ve had a €15million bid accepted for ex arsenal academy player and Beskitas attacking midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup

Would also take Wilshere on a free, either will do. Both creative, however one’s injury prone and proven in the PL but the other isn’t injury prone and isn’t proven in PL

This article says Besiktas have been offered €15M by the toon
but Arsenal still own 30% of Oguzhan Ozyakup so it’s getting a
    wee bit complicated

Lunch at the cricket. England 141 ahead with three Pakistani wickets down. This game is role reversal from the first. Could win this before the day is out.

Lascelles, yes mate, ideally the Gallowgate would suit safe standing. Tbh I only used Level Seven as an example because I believe it holds ten thousand and it made the maths easier. 🙂
Regardless of where it is, if we really want to increase our capacity that won’t involve moving or asking Le Knacka to fork out a fortune to extend anywhere – not that there’s many places we can extend – then I don’t really see another option. I’m all ears though if anybody has better ideas.

Saying Jack Wilshere is better than Ayoze is like saying Toon are better than Sunderland! 🙂

Can I just add , “great footballer”?
If Wilshere came to Newcastle it would move us to another level ! Don’t think he would come but I live in hope!
