Is This The Second Player Rafa Is Trying To Sign Quickly?

The Northern Echo is reporting that Newcastle are again looking to buy Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore this summer – and there have already been some articles on the Magpies’ interest.

What the 22-year-old Spaniard offers Benitez is real pace and power on the wing, and he also has plenty of skill but is not that consistent.

The latest transfer fee mentioned for Traore is £15M, but Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis may try to get more than that if the young Spaniard is sold.

Adama Traore – continual links with Newcastle

Pulis wants to transform his squad this summer and bring in new players in an attempt to get promoted from the Championship next May so he will need money for that and that’s why Adama Traore may be sold.

Rafa is expected to bring in one additional winger this summer, and Robert Kennedy of Chelsea will be the number one target, but it’s not clear that he will be available from Chelsea.

With Kenedy’s future not being settled until Chelsea (potentially) bring in a new manager to replace Antonio Conte, it could be well into the summer before Rafa knows if the young Brazilian is available.

Benitez will push his contacts at Chelsea to make an early decision on Kenedy to either allow a season-long loan deal or a permanent transfer.

But we cannot see both Adama Traore and Kenedy both arriving this summer.

It’s likely to be one or the other.

And Rafa is said to be hot on the trail of his second signing of the summer, so maybe it’s Traore?

If he does come we can see him become a much better player once Rafa Benitez has worked with him for a few months.

Comments are welcome.

    Why would he?
    Dosh it’s always dosh
That’s why Rafa wants our wages cap removed

I disagree – I think Jamie Vardy proved that loyalty leads to players foregoing bumper pay days for causes close to their hearts. In Lascelles’ case, he could move to one of the top 6 in two years for an even bigger pay day, so why move to Everton now?

Also – do we know that Rafa wants the wage cap removed? Surely if the rumours are true and Shelvey is on £70k / wk, the wages cap is largely situational at best.

We pay enough by and large, in proportion to our general rivals. It’s the upfront 15-20 mill hit that is our next big step, giving rafa the right to buy 3 very decent players at 20mill each and also paying agent fees etc

    I answered the question
    IF he left
(I don’t think for a second he will)
    but
    IF
he did , it is always the money

and btw Vardy’s contract at Leicester
was increased from £67K pw to £98K pw
    last February

He’s fast but no end product, much the same as Atsu. If speed is all that matters Usain Bolt might be available.
